Bollywood films dealing with violence and
sexual content have often run into trouble
with the Censor Board of Film Certification.
However a family film like Prem Ratan Dhan
Payo directed by Sooraj Barjatya falling into
Censor trouble is pretty much unbelievable.
According to a report on India Today, the
reason for the same is weird. Apparently the
film is also being dubbed in Tamil and Telugu
languages to maximize profits in minimum
time. Now, for the film to release in other
languages, a new title also has to be provided
and the title provided seems to be a topic of
conflict in this place.
Reportedly, the film was going to be
called Prem Leela in Telugu but the Board has
objected that the title is misleading and
doesn't convey the gist of the film. Also, the
name of the Telugu version does not adhere
to censor laws for dubbed films because it
bears no resemblance to the original title Prem
Ratan Dhan Payo.
Till the time the Telugu title isn't reworked,
the Telugu version of the film won't be
certified, affecting the business of the film in
that market. However, it won't affect the film's
