Details about the upcoming prequel for the successful Harry Potter series have been revealed.

According to Entertainment Weekly, J.K. Rowling's newest installment for the Harry Potter franchise will be starring Eddie Redmayne. Titled "Fanstastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," the film will explore the story of Newt Scamander, played by Redmayne.

It was revealed that the story will take place 70 years before Harry began his studies in Hogwarts. Newt Scamander is known as the famous magizoogolist who authored a bestseller titled "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." His book was used as a textbook for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The upcoming film, which is considered J.K. Rowling's first screenplay, will tell his journey before he was an established magizoogolist. It was revealed that he traveled to New York to do research for his novel. With that, he realized that many wizards living in America are scared to be revealed because there was a prominent threat in the wizard community similar to the Salem Witch trials. The American Wizards have to hide from "No-Maj," which is the American version of Muggles.

Newt will be collecting several creatures throughout his adventure. However, things will take a turn when they escape from him.

Another star joining Redmayne in the film is Katherine Waterson. It was revealed that she will be taking on the role of Porpentina Goldstein. Her character works at the Magical Congress of the United States. She and Newt are expected to be friends throughout the film. In addition, her sister, Alison, will be portrayed by Alison Sulod. Alison will have the ability to read minds.

Colin Farrell will also be featured in the film as the President of the American Wizarding World. It was reported that Dan Folger will also be present in the film. He will be playing the first Non-Maj character introduced in the series named Jacob Kowalski.

There are also speculations that Dumbledore will be making an appearance in the upcoming film. It was said that the film could be an opportunity for fans to get to know more about the iconic character before he became the head of Hogwarts.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will be released in theaters on Nov. 18, 2016.
