This is a wonderful opportunity for me to rant about a topic very close to my heart...

Personally I didn't like the trailer at all. It's simply too historically inaccurate.

Bhansali is known for his grandiose sets- and his Marathas are simply too glamorous- for want of a better word- to be relatable & believable. Look at the sheer opulence of the sets; in reality, the Peshwai Court- though hardly niggardly- were almost permanently cash-strapped. Even reparing Shaniwar Wada after the Fire had been an exercise in futility for this reason. Thus, scenes like this- with hundreds of superfluous lights and stagnanet water fountains- would've been unbelievable.

And then is the same old grouse of mine- battle formations. For some reason, no Indian director/ writer/ producer seems to have understood the concept of Battle formations.

That isn't the trailer, it was the teaser, the trailer will be coming out soon

Also in terms of being historically accurate, the story will be accurate, the reason why slb had to make lavish sets is to attract the audience, if there were boring and ugly sets no one wud hav any interest in watching the film

It's a big ticket movie so slb has had to pull out all the stops to attract the audience, and it's working, so many hav loved deewani mastani and the teaser

Exactly what I was thinking looking at the royal, lavish sets of BM. Bajirao was a Peshwa, a general of the King's army, he wasnt the King himself. So his palace shd not be so grand or royal looking.

Bajirao Ballal Bhat, also known as Bajirao I, was a noted general who served as the Maratha Peshwa to the fourth Chhatrapati- Chhatrapati Shahu Raje Bhonsle of the Maratha Empire from 1720 until Bajirao's death.

The sets that Bhansali made up looks more like a Mughal era than a Maratha one. Atleast for the Deewani Mastani song. It looked way out of place. When u make a historical movie these things matter.

BM has its own set of audience!

DP n PC fans + history lovers!

The movie will get decent response but the huge budget is the drawback!

I mean earning over 140 cr with a clash is very very difficult job!

BM needs to have tremendous wom n Dilwale needs to fail completely for that to happen!

We haven't seen all the sets, all we saw was one for deewani mastani, and by looking at the teaser it seems the deewani mastani set is the most lavish.

But still if it attracts the audience then I see no problem with it, most important is that the story to be accurate

and not every biopic is going to be 100% accurate, even jodha akbar was criticised for having some inaccuracies

But slb did invite the descendant family of Bajirao onto the sets and they said they were very happy with everything they saw
