First day of Summer Quarter...

Bus stop...
--Kriya POV--
I stood froze as he pulls me back to him, and the car drives away. Then after checking no car was coming, he started walking looking ahead but his hold on my hand was firm, so he knew I was right there with him. As he walks ahead of me, I suddenly realize that I didn't know that he was on the same bus with me though I knew he was in my ENG 101 class. The noise of tires hitting the gravel brought me back to the present.
"Thanks," I mumble as I slowly try to pull my hand from his grip keeping my gaze down. I didn't see it but I felt his gaze on my face goes to my arm where he was holding. Realizing, he let go of my hand and take a step back and muttered a sorry as he runs his hand through his hair. I nodded not looking at his face too long scared that I will give into the temptation of doing introductions as I turned on my right and started walking down the sidewalk.
I heard footsteps behind me and willed myself not to walk faster or turn around to see if it is him. I know it was Rey. Don't ask me how, I just knew! I have been noticing him from past 2 hours since I saw him come in and sat in front of me. I told her Zoey all about him, and she giggled. We talked about him the whole time too bored from the lecture.
--Rey POV--
This girl is insane!!! She froze on the road as the car was coming to her. Not going back or front!! I couldn't believe it. I grab her arm and pull her back then when the car passed away I crossed the road holding her arm. Then she quietly thanked me and tried to pull her arm back, and I had to let go though I didn't want to at all. Then, she nods and walk away. W*F! Who does that?!?! I am a celebrity! Heck, I am a human being! Why won't she talk to me?
As I see her walking ahead, I decided that if she isn't going to approach me first then I will but I won't let her go. I took a quick step and came beside her as we turn onto the same street. Hey, do we live on the same street?! I rejoiced at the new thought, but I went ahead with my idea of talking to her. "Hey," I coo keeping a little distance from us not wanting to be a creep.
She turns around with a hesitation that I can notice from her body and her eyes get big as she sees me. "Yes?" she asks as she stops and look at me. I flustered a little not expecting this response, "Umm.. yeah," Than getting my courage I asked, "What did you think when you stopped like that in the middle of the busy street?! You could have gotten yourself killed," I said with a little too sternly than I intended to, but the thought of something happening to her stopped my heart for a second.
"I was sorry. I froze as I remembered my Dad. He recently passed away in a car accident," she says in a small voice breaking my heart immediately. OMG, I am so stupid that I made her sad. "I am sorry," I said though the words sounded fake to my ears also as I turn my gaze down. I could see from my peripheral vision that she nods and softly speaks, "It's okay." When I look up to her face, she was smiling at me, I smile back. I liked her smile. It was genuine that makes her eyes sparkle.
--Kriya POV--
Next, I did the most unexpected thing ever, and as I did it, I knew I was going to regret it. He seemed so genuine and kind that I couldn't help it. I give him my hand for a shake, "Hi, I am Kriya," I say smiling. The smile that came over his face when he saw this was remarkable. His hand immediately came and engulfed my small hand in his big one. "Hey, I am Rey," he says with his charming smile making my smile deepen but I look away quickly as I pull my hand back.
"What happened?" he asked as I start to walk ahead as a soft smile play on my lips. I shook my head biting my lips as I called out, "Come on. Let's walk! It's getting late." After a few seconds, he caught up with me. "Come on! You need to tell me! What made you smile so big?" he ask again as I can feel his intense eyes on but I kept my gaze front. "Nothing," I said again, but a soft giggle escape my lips as I cover my lips with my hand.
He shook his head rolling his eyes, "Fine! Don't tell me! I won't tell you my secret either," he ask as he walked ahead of me and did he just, stomp his foot like a five-year-old?!?! I shook my head at him smiling as I take quick steps and catch up with him. "Fine! I won't tell you mine," I say as I walk beside him as I sent a playful glare to him. We walk for barely 2 minutes when he huffs and puffs and then accepts defeat.
"Okay, if I tell you my secret, will you tell me why you were laughing at me and what your secret is?" He asks charmingly with his eyes big and pouty lips. I narrow my eyes and look at him not willing to melt under his spell. "Nope," I say as I stop walking and stand with my arms folded under my chest, "I will tell you only one thing, and that is my secret," I continued with a determined look. "So, deal or no deal?" I ask him with an eyebrow raised.
"Fine!!" he says looking every bit annoyed 5-year-old, who was just denied his candy, only making me giggle more. "My secret is that I am a celebrity," he said in a hushed tone like paparazzi will jump on us. I rolled my eyes at him and confessed, "I know!" "I knew it!" he exclaims suddenly his smile was back on like he won a competition. I just smile not sure what to say on that as he looks at me with his deep eyes.
--Rey POV--
I can't believe I am standing in front of my apartment complex talking with this girl. She isn't like what I expected. When she starts talking, she can be very fun. I have a feeling she has a pretty bubbly personality but not dumb bubbly. Like I guessed before, she knew I was a celebrity. Now that my secret is revealed, I want to know hers. "So, what is your secret?" I ask waiting for her answer. Her smile falters a little as she looks down at her hands as she fidgets with her phone. I stand quietly partly scared and partly confused. What could she have to tell me that was so difficult?
Just when I was about to tell her that it is okay, and she doesn't have to share if isn't comfortable when she starts talking, "So.. when I shook your hand.." she starts pointing at my hand and then all of a sudden, I had an awful thought OH SHIT! She thinks my hand stinks! I was holding the railing in the bus, and it is metal, which made my hand stink. I was about to jump and clarify that I am a very clean person when she continues. "It.. it just reminded me of my Dad," she says her gaze down at her hands. I frown not getting where she is going with this. "He had big hands like you and so when he would grab my hand my hand would disappear in his," she says as she look up at me and gives me a big smile, and there I can see that little daddy's girl in her eyes.
She smiles big. "That's all. That is my secret," she says as she plays with her backpack's strap nervously as she waits for my response. "That's very cute. He sounds like an awesome Dad," I say meaning it as I smile at her. She smiles and nods and then turns start walking. I stay there looking at her. I could almost see her thought process when she after few steps realize that I am not with her and turns to see me. I smiled when our eyes met. "I have to go," I say pointing at the apartments behind me. "Oh., " she says for a second out of words. "Okay then, "she says smiling, " I will see you Wednesday," says as she starts back walking as she waves at me.
"Yh. Bye," I say smiling as I wave at her. She takes two more steps looking at me as I stood there my eyes never leaving hers when she breaks the eye contact still smiling as she waves at me and turns and walk away. I look down as a soft smile play on my lips. I look up once again, and I could see her walking away. I shook my head and turned to walk into my apartment area TRYING not to think about the small girl who doesn't seem to leave my mind.
