So, I see his side of things too when he didn't tell her the truth. It wasn't right on his part, I agree of course! . But honestly, I don't know whether in a situation like this, even I would have been able to tell my significant other or not. There's the risk of losing the person you love, Ananya would have pursued it no matter what. But since he knows what these people did to her father. He was scared for her, for them. Its selfish of him to think of himself, of the love he has now, but its not wrong totally. That makes him relatable.
As for Ananya, I see her side of things too, that slap was justified imo. That's a very instinctive reaction to something as big as that. Its very humane, very natural for her to act like that.
