coming to looks and talent, how will we know our own worth when the good looking talented actors are not even given chance while most of the roles are given to star kids and now paki actors.

i dont support shiv sena but i dont see how they are wrong by protesting against paki artists. just for coming across as a progressive state we cannot compromise with our national interest and honour.
our dignity and self respect should come first.

I saw it coming, Shiv Sena was hiding when 26/11 happened but after the situation they alongwith its sister party MNS went after soft targets like Pak artists. There is crappy bias with its supporters who think these tactics will isolate Pakistan or make it bend towards their demands. Or that working in India is lucrative financially for Pak artists, none of it is true or gonna happen. Pak artists r not paid that well but make up as the media back home gives them good coverage with the help of which they do more events and earn well from there.

Fawad Khan does'nt need fame from India, and if I remember his film khoobsurat did'nt do well in India but did extremely abroad. Indians r not doing any favors to Pakistanis, they were trying to capture the overseas market in UAE, UK ,US and Pakistan by giving Fawad a role, in which they met with success. With Pakistani films releasing like recent film JPNA competing and beating Kapil Sharma film by collections in UK, UAE and US that market will be divided and competition will grow.

In 90s, Shiv sena banned Pak cricketer-actor Mohsin Khan. They also dug the pitch in Delhi Stadium. Mohsin Khan never returned but more Pak artists worked in bollywood. Shiv Sena will impose ban and then remain silent after sometime Pak artists resume working. Shiv Sena's junior partner issues with BJP are also making them desperate to get some spotlight, but this recent hooliganism has exposed India and raised the hindu terrorism issue once again.

Pakistan recently conducted Zimbabwe tour and it went well. Regarding Sri Lankan team attack there were foreign influences in motion so to blame the Pak situation or use it is absurd and typical indian ignorance. Indians need to make clear their disdain for Pakistan instead of LOL excuses that they hate us apart from liberals, their govt. this or that. You need to be consistent as blame on Pakistan has been going for years.

In this relationship india getts to earn more as Pakistan has actually allowed indian films release barring anti-Pak movies whereas these militant groups did'nt let a harmless romance like bin roye release in Maharashtra. So hopefully local content will be given priority nstead of indian seeing the current indian drama.

After seeing indian meherbaani, I would support Fawad-Mahira not going to India so these Indians can keep their meherbaani and give it to russian & european dancers who replaced Indians and earn more than them. Fawad has not done any Pakistani project so he will return to dramas & films which many Pak fans wanted so its a blessing in disguise. Time will show whose lose it'll turn out to be.

Indians dignity and self-respect only revolves around what indian muslims eat or what muslims do, so these attacks are exposing the real india which is'nt secular.

So what next.. These people are going to dictate who can work and who cannot in 'their' Mumbai. These actors are signed by our producers and they have full right on that decision... We don't really need to show this intolerant behavior towards these artist to stage a protest of what's happening on border.. We can't view Pakistan as single entity to hate... Ultimately peace and talks are only way to ease tensions between two countries. Whatever situation is the fact is that we do have a tradition of Athithi devo bhav..so why tarnishing that image across world..
Increasing cases of such intolerance in past few days has given bad name to BJP govt.. I hope they protect those actors who have been given valid visas by Govt itself...

All these incidents reminds me of this open letter by Suhel Seth.Brilliantly written.

An open letter to Uddhav Thackeray

A
ADear Uddhav: I never imagined I would ever need to write an open letter to you like I did, several months ago, in this very newspaper to your estranged cousin Raj. I always thought you were decent. You are a keen photographer, which means you respect creativity. I thought you had abandoned the path of hooliganism and I said as much as this to you when we last met. In fact I even told your wife and you how Aditya, your son and obviously your heir, was refreshingly different.

I admired the manner in which your son was fighting for a more liberal outlook to life amongst the cadres of your party. He was moving away from fisticuffs and thuggery to genuine causes and I actually believed that the Shiv Sena of today was no longer the bullying machine that it once was.

But then how wrong I was.

So some brave louts of your party blackened Sudheendra Kulkarni's face because they didn't feel he was being a nationalist whilst hosting Kasuri's book launch. Truth be told, I also believe the likes of Kasuri don't deserve either our attention or time and are two-faced scoundrels. But then I am not brought up to blacken people's faces. Dissent must be voiced elegantly and not like some wrestler in an unseemly ring. Kulkarni and his ilk are peaceniks that believe in sleeping with the enemy but then you make martyrs out of them when your people behave like hooligans. Your party will be singularly responsible for making an author out of a fraud like Kasuri and a nationalist out of Kulkarni.

But then again, this letter is not just about Kasuri and Kulkarni: they are lightning rods for the ruffians of your party and my objection is to that. Why do you want to come across as Bombay's Hooligan-in-Chief? You've had a decent education; you seem to have enough money; post the last elections you also have reasonable clout so why don't you build your party as distinct from the previous avatar or is it that the leopard in reality never changed its spots? That you and your ilk fooled sensible people into believing that the legacy of hooliganism was now with Raj and not you? Uddhav, the world has changed. And that world includes Bombay. I am surprised that a photographer who is trained to capture every nuance of life has missed out on this completely. The Bombay of today is no longer scared. They just don't want this nuisance so they put up with you. But then don't look too far back. Just look at what happened to Raj Thackeray and learn some lessons from history. He was shown the door by the electorate because he leaned towards disruption more than towards development. He picked battles to win which would (and did) make him lose the war. He was, and to my mind, remains a coward and a bully is essentially a coward.

You need to worry about the kind of Bombay you manage than about some silly book launch and if protest is what you want then change the idiom of that protest and surprise people. Can you imagine with how much warmth people would have reacted if thousands of your cadres wore black ribbons and sat silently outside the Nehru Centre during the book launch rather than fling black paint and make two unworthy people famous for some time? To beat up people is no longer fashionable for political parties: that is the preserve of local hooligans so if you want Shiv Sena to be more hooligan and less political then go ahead and stock up on cans of black paint. But if you want to be taken seriously and earn the respect of those who elected you, then you have no option but to alter the very DNA that was on display last week. The Sanjay Rauts in your party are dinosaurs. They belong to Jurassic Park. Not to a cosmopolitan metropolis. The sooner you shut them up or banish them, the better off you will be.

Have a splendid week ahead... thinking of all the damage you've caused. To yourself, your son and your party. Not to mention to the citizens of Bombay and on a larger plane, the people of India.
