By that you mean specifically foreigners right and not the NRI audience? Salman does enjoy a strong NRI following no doubt about that. If you're talking about the lack of a strong non-indian audience, umm may have something to do with the fact that Salman's films are very desi, very indian (it's not a bad thing).
Whereas SRK is more urban, there's more international flair to his films (courtesy KJO).Although the way Salman's popularity is growing I wouldn't be surprised if he starts gaining international recognition soon, especially post BB's success.

SRK and Amir do very indian films.
What you mean to say is Salman does aswell but crap ones that are cheap and not executed well.
He is lucky he got Kabir Khan which gave him a film with a descent storyline.
