If you're talking about the lack of a strong non-indian audience, umm may have something to do with the fact that Salman's films are very desi, very indian (it's not a bad thing).

Whereas SRK is more urban, there's more international flair to his films (courtesy KJO).

Although the way Salman's popularity is growing I wouldn't be surprised if he starts gaining international recognition soon, especially post BB's success.

I have to somewhat disagree.

SRK and Amir do very indian films.

What you mean to say is Salman does aswell but crap ones that are cheap and not executed well.

He is lucky he got Kabir Khan which gave him a film with a descent storyline.

One major reason in my opinion would be that both Aamir/Shahrukh speak well and speak mostly in English. Theyve also had a lot of overseas events. A lot of NRIs and foreigners that watch BW movies dont actually speak Hindi. Its much much easier to like and follow a celebrity that has a good hold of English and is easy to understand. This is ofcourse coming from someone that doesnt speak Hindi at home, has a hard time understanding some Hindi words and can't really stand the Hindi accent much. I have a valid reason for that last comment, if you ask me ill tell you :)

Prem uncle has a language problem.

Desis don't understand aiuuu ouu uuu let alone foreigners!

And most of his films don't cater to NRIs.

because his bhojpuri movies arent for NRIs tastes.

Shahrukh is forever popular overseas in western countries for various reasonsand that's the reason he keeps getting involved with various organizations/institutions , of course people whose day starts with BO and finishes with BO will not understand it .
