Asad Ahmed Khan stood in the corridor of the college, aware of the flirty glances he was getting from the female population yet least interested, as he dribbled the ball with a fallen face. It was not that he did not enjoy the attention he got, it was sonething he was always proud of. But lately, this did not excite him as much as it did earlier. Maybe, it was because of the new changes his heart has accepted.
"Aye Romeo!" He heard his friend Ayaan as he felt him hit his back friendly "Waiting for juliet?" He asked playfully.
"Ayaan" Asad gave him a warning expression.
"What Ayaan? Dude, if you like her so much then why don't you tell her?" He asked him as Asad sighed.
"It's not easy...she's not the kind of a girl whom you could have a fling with. She's..She's different. Special. " His eyes softened. "And deserves far more better than a guy like me." Asad shook his head.
"Man! You're in Love!" Ayaan screeched like a highschool fangirl, as Asad slapped him for over reacting.
"Maybe, yes...but stop over reacting, you idiot. Wanna announce to the whole college or what?"
"Okay okay peace. When will you tell her?"
"Lets see where things take us. For now she just considers me a friend. So be it then, for now" Asad sighed.
"As you wish, but dont be too late in confessing your feelings, I dont want you to lose the very best thing happened in your life." Ayaan advised him like a true friend and Asad smiled at his concern.
"I gotta go, Humera begum must be waiting for me" Giving him a slight nudge, Ayaan walked off.
Asad kept wondering to himself. Maybe Ayaan is right. Maybe he should tell her.
He still remembers the first day of college, when he met her for the first time, right here in the corridor. Even though they both were late for the class, she was panicking while he was coolly wandering around. That's when they bumped together and he saved her from falling. Completely mesmerized he was with the stunning beauty in his arms as he was, he never wanted the moment to end. Her scared face and innocent almond-shaped brown eyes had completely hypnotised him.
She had asked him the way to the class and he felt jumping in joy knowing they had the same class. Suddenly, he was more excited to attend the class. They kept chatting on the way to the class, actually he was the one who kept blabbering to get out a reaction from her. And she kept her answers short. After that, he attended the class regularly, even the Professor was surprised at his attendance.
After one week of silently gazing, what he got to know about her was that she was an extremely bright student, but scared. She was a simple and delicate girl and he had a sudden urge to protect her.
One day when he found his friends ragging her, his blood boiled. She looked close to tears as she was being asked to kiss one of his friend. He walked towards them and stood in front of them as his back faced hers, acting like a barrier between them. And then the whole college witnessed Asad Ahmed Khan yelling at his friends and supporting the anarkali-clad girl.
That marked the start of their beautiful friendship. He had found a wonderful friend in her who would go to any length for their happiness. He was already aware of the fact that he had always considered her more than a friend but yet he always failed to understand her feelings for him. He had also given her many hints but she was too innocent to understand them.
Ayaan was right, he should tell her. But what if she doesn't feel the same way? What if she rejects him? He feared loosing her and if he confessed his feelings and she didn't feel the same way, he might as well loose his friendship.
He had to tell her anyhow, else he'll go mad. He had to tell her, if she rejects him, he'll convince her to give him a chance atleast and not ruin their beautiful friendship. He cannot afford to lose her at any cost.
"Asad" The sweet voice he ached to hear, brought him out of his thoughts. He turned around to see the girl of his dreams standing right in front of him, smiling at him. Dressed in a peach churidar with dupatta draped modestly around her neck, she looked simply beautiful.
"Zoya" He smiled as he moved towards her.
"Where were you lost?" She asked
He smiled. "No..Nowhere. Just thinking"
"About?" She prodded.
"You" He replied huskily, gazing intently at her. Her cheeks reddened at his reply as well as his intense gaze she was barely able to handle.
Realizing what he blurted out in a frenzy of emotions, he smacked himself mentally.
"uhh..I mean...you, you because I needed your..your help in a question" He stuttered.
"Oh...sure" Zoya replied as they moved towards the library. Arman followed her, not failing to notice the blush on her cheeks, he smiled at that.

Zoya kept explaining the question to Asad as he kept looking at her dreamily. The way her lips moved in sync, the way her nose twitched, the way her eyes widened and the lock of hair that kept brushing her eyes, everything left him in a dreamland.
"Asad dekho..." She pointed at a figure in the book.
"Dekh hi tou raha hun" He replied as her head snapped towards him.
Turning crimson under his gaze, she replied "Yahan dekho"
He smiled and turned his head towards the book. How he loved seeing her turning different shades of red!
As he looked at the book, everything seemed boring. Till he was looking at Zoya everything had seemed beautiful. Its quite the opposite this time. He tried to suppress his yawn and keep his eyes open but failef miserably.
He heard Zoya shut the book and his head snapped towards her. "What happened Zoya?" He asked.
"What happened to you Asad?" She asked him, "You're not paying attention. Sometimes you're sleeping, sometimes you're lost in thoughts...What's wrong?" She asked worriedly.
"Sorry Zoya" He apologized, "I'm a bit messed up"
"Tell me whats the problem...maybe I can try to help" She offered.
"You can't help me in this" He replied smiling and sighed. Ofcourse you can't...its regarding you!
"I'll try my best to help you...after all what are friends for?" She replied smiling.
Zoya looked at her, maybe she's right. She's my friend too.
"Zoya, I'm in love" He said all in one breath. He looked at her but her face was expressionless. He saw her face breaking into a dazzling smile as she processed the news.
"Oh my God! Asad Ahmed Khan in love?!" She said happily.
"Are you happy?" He asked, trying to read her eyes.
"Of course! My friend is in love. Why won't I be Happy?" She replied cheerfully.
"Really?" He asked, holding onto his last thread of hope.
"Yes Asad" Zoya rolled her eyes.
Asad felt his heart break seeing her so enthusiastic about hearing him being in love, he thought she might be disappointed and hurt and confess her love to him but thats definitely not the case here. Infact quite the opposite.
"Whose the lucky girl?" She teased him.
"You..." He said directly looking at het and for a second he saw the expressions he wanted to see, but they were covered up immediately by her. "You...know her" He repeated.
"Okay I need to go...I have a class. We'll talk about this later" She smiled at him and walked off.
He kept looking at her retreating back till she was out of sight, and then his face broke out in the dimpled smile every girl died for, as he finally got the answer he waited for.

"Hey Rohan! Do you know where Zoya is?" He asked a guy who was their classmate.
"No yar...She didn't attend the class today. Even I was waiting for her, Wanted to return her notes" Rohan replied and walked off leaving Asad sighing to himself.
Didn't even attend the class today? How is that possible? Zoya and not attending class has to be a news. He knew her well, she had never missed a class and she didn't attend this one. He smiled and shook his head. He knew where to find her now.

A sudden gush of air hit him lightly as he stepped on the terrace, he looked around and saw a small, petite figure standing before the parparet with the arms locked around her chest. Her hair were swaying along the soft breeze as her back faced him.
He smiled and walked towards her and stood at a distance. He saw her turning around lightly as if she felt his presence. He looked at her tear filled eyes as their eyes met before she looked away.
"As-Asad..wh-what are you doing here?" She stammered as if being caught.
"Why were you crying?" He asked, his gaze fixated on her face as he ignored her question.
"I wasn't" She denied as expected.
"Really?" He asked as he took a step forward, making her move back. He lifted his hand and caught a tear falling from her cheek.
"Hmm...so is it raining inside your eyes?" He asked sarcastically.
"Asad move. I need to go" Zoya said firmly.
"I won't. First answer my question."
"I am not answerable to you Asad"
"Yes you are. When your tears concern me, you are answerable to me." He replied.
Zoya hit the parparet behind her and his arms wrapped around her waist. "Why Zoya?" He nuzzled in her nose and she tried to keep her heart in control, yet she was failing miserably as his hot breath created a havoc in her senses.
"Asad please..." She whispered as he dropped a feather light kiss just below her ear.
He moved apart and saw her eyes closed, her breath uneven. He smiled as he saw his effect on her.
"You love me. Say it." He said in simple words as she opened her eyes and gasped.
"That's not the truth" She tried to break his bubble but he didn't budge.
"Don't deny zoya. Say you love me because I..." He trailed off and cupped her face, looking directly in her chocolate orbs.
"I am completely, insanely and irrevocably in love with you"
Her eyes were opened wide and he chuckled at that, wiping the trace of tear on her left cheek "and I know you love me too so better not lie to me sweetheart"
Her heart stil fluttered at his words even when her mind was in a state of confusion. "But...but you said you loved someone"
"I said that and I did not lie. I love you" He replied smiling.
Zoya's mind processed everything as she started hitting him with her small fists on her chest. "You idiot. You fooled me and here I was crying buckets thinking you love someone else!" She kept crying as she hit him.
Asad laughed as he caught her fragile wrists and pinned her behind her back. "I am sorry honey. I know I am fool but I really needed to do that else I wouldn't be ablr to know about your feelings. And as much I was impressed by your acting I didn't fail to notice that disappointment you tried your best to hide" He finished as she stared at him with teary eyes.
"I thought you'd never love me because I am not the type of girl you's want" She looked away. Asad cupped the side of her face and made her look back at him.
"Zoya. Don't evrr think that. Don't ever think you're not worthy of me. If there's someone, its me. Not you. You are just perfect." He said and kissed her cheeks as her cheeks turned a bright shade of red.
"I love that color on you" He winked and she blushed harder.
"You know...you still haven't said the words" He said and pouted.
"What words?" She asked, confused.
"Yehi that you love me." He whispered in her ear sending tingles down her spine.
"You know that, Right?" She tried coming out of the grip, too shy to say those words, but his grip was firm.
"I won't let you go until you say it" He said and pulled her closer.
Zoya bit her lip, "Come one, Zoya. Just tell me you love me unless you don't..." Asad trailed off, disappointed.
"I love you" She breathed. He looked up with expressions that screamed joy and happiness. He tightened his arms around her and pulled her in a passionate embrace.
"I love you...I love you..I love you soo much" He kept reapeating the words as he looked up and thanked God to send this angel in his life.
