Karthik is 19. Buys of this age can be very impulsive and aggressive also. his character is said to be immature...so he won't try to listen to the other person like a mature adult...it's not his nature.

Karthik grew up with Bhau's help. he was educated and given a living because of Bhau. For him and many other people in th chawl bhau is like god and they all respect him.So karthik admores bhau and wants to become like him.

karthik is a teenager who is immature and doesn't understand that the man who brought him up is not a good man...maybe later in the show his mom will talk to him and enlighten him as to what is good and bad and whom to support

well kartik maybe impulsive but when you love and respect someone so much thinking they have done a favour on you then you end up taking their side irrespective of how the man is

bhav maybe good or bad just as for kartik he had made an image in his mind that bhav is like a saviour who had saved his family for misery after his fathers death that's the reason kartik doesn't listen to anyone

and he has grown up in a society where people only go at each other's neck to kill them so seeing and learning that he has became impulsive and aggressive he has learnt to take decisions without giving a second thought so that's what he did maybe it would take kartik some time to realise its important to think calmly
