I don't know, I was so bored traveling to Baroda by car, that some funny thoughts came across my mind... It's often thanks to my hilarious friends who keep on nagging me to complete their work, while they will do anything in return, and of course, I wondered, had it all been real, like me doing their work and they doing my ghar ka work, what would have been the scene. ...
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Thought about how would it suite, Kalpana and Pakhi, so well, this story is definitely NOT the RagNa story, but something really stupid, I have scribbled down while travelling, it maybe max. 5 chapters, and thought to give it a try.
Though I have written the story, chapter wise- so far 3 chapters, (Thanks to Internet Cut in the state, that I had got plenty of time to jott down the crap. I am simply copy pasting, what I had written in my evernote mobile, and hence, it is likely, to have loads and loads of grammatical errors, feel free to correct them.) Of course when I shared it with one of my friend from forum, her question was "Tujhe RagNa par kuch nai suja?"😆 and I was like, 😕 "Kyun RagNa writers ki kami hai kya forum par?" 😆😆😆 and well, here I am ..
Thanks Rishu, Kavi, and Kate for your, little bits of feedback

It's completely for fun.. and not intended to offend anyone,... umm.. well there isn't... something to offend anyone, and surprisingly I have kept Pakhi in little "Positive" light.
But yes, there are somethings which can be offensive, is certain things / "Facts" I mention about Education and basic system in India, but I am hoping it will be taken on Lighter Note.

Chapter 1

Day was almost through the mid afternoon, when one can hear a woman screaming sound coming from some apartment on last floor of 20 storeys building. It sounded like a mother was scolding her daughter, "Can't You study well?? What were you doing whole day in your room with books then?? How can you fail?? Don't you ever care for your dad's reputation? ? And look at that Kalpana.." brunt was faced by 10 year old Pakhi as Neetu scolded her daughter for failing in grade 8. Moreover further comparison with Kamla's daughter Kalpi, who had topped added annoyance to Neetu's mood and Pakhi's sadness; however, real Pakhi never knew the meaning of sadness, no matter what she scored or how she had behaved, she would be earning loads of gifts either from her lovely brother, Raghav and Rich dad, Sahil. Hence she had to act sad for now, to not disappoint mom and get the sympathy of her plate.

Though the words were spoken within four walls of her room, it was overheard by little older boy, who had come to meet Raghav for their group project. He felt bad for her. Sammy had always adored Pakhi for her sweet nature, but he was well aware siblings were at different ends altogether. While his friend Raghav, was perfect in every sense, smart, responsible, sincere and hardworking, making complete use of all the resources he possessed. Infact he had topped the boards last year as both of them now had been studying in standard 11th. However, Pakhi was the one, who only knew to utlize her resources to improve her looks and look the best. Inspite of being blessed with all the materialistic pleasures, Pakhi sadly had some serious lacking in her brains, using her brain, think logically, or attain common sense, she was good at "trying" to imitate, but often failed miserably, when imitating sensible people around. But that wasn't her fault afterall, she was rich, umm... and loved and pampered, "kuch bhi ho, uski galti nai hai who fail ho gayi," was Sammy's views.

Sammy had some suggestions for her, but he thought of speaking to her only after completing project, or else Raghav will kill him for being late. Hence ignoring all other thoughts he passed the bedroom to reach his friend's room.

After completing some basic layout of their college project Sammy headed to Pakhi's room.

**knock knock** pakhi looked at the wonder wondering who could it be? She stopped combing her hair and sat on the bed once again making her face look dull and asked the person to come in. Sammy wasn't happy seeing her gloomy face and sat next to her to console her. He puts his hands on her shoulder and assured her everything would be fine. "But how???" she asked him getting up. "Look at my dad. He is so rich suchha big name in industry and his daughter??? Nothing but a loser" she said faking a cry. Sammy got up from bed to stand behind her, "You can ask your brother to help you Pakhi. He is good with all. He had helped me allot during our school days and he teaches good trust me," he suggested. Pakhi gave him sarcastic time, "Be it dad or be it brother, they would rather give me some money in hand and tell me to join some tuition instead. I also tried that," Pakhi added with disappointment, "But you see those tuition teachers failed to teach me anything, as they made me just keep on dreaming" she completed dreamily. "I am sorry but studies are not my cup of tea. For once government had come up with interesting policy of no failing till 8th and hence I was able to come at least till here," She sobbed," but now.. How will I save myself??" She sobbed louder,"No best teacher can teach me..." she cried... "Nor government would support me anymore by extending their no fail policy till 10th ... nor teachers seem to be kind enough to be bribed, like I tried last time," she blurted while crying trying her best to get sympathy and support of Sammy in return. That's exactly when something different strikes Sammy... as he approached her with 100 watt smile on his face, "Pakhi!! Pakhi!! I have a brilliant idea. Why don't you meet Kalpi. She anyways takes tuition to earn extra and add income to Kamla aunty's mini income, or say Kamla aunty adds income to Kalpi's lot earning of tuitions" he chuckled at the fact before he continued, " I am sure she will help you out," he said. "Waise toh she will not!" she thought aloud... "But maybe I know how to make her agree..." she smiled at the idea by sammy and thanked him by placing a kiss on his cheek.

Sammy was happy to be able to bring smile on her face and that cute kiss was his cheek was cherry as he looked on at her with his hand on his cheek with surprise.

Chapter 2

"Kalpi ... if.." pakhi was just about to start asking her doubt when she heard her yell "Chup!!! Kitne sawaal karti hai.. ab kya sab sums mein hi kar doon???" Kalpana yelled angrily. Pakhi took her book and went in kitchen where Kalpi was, "Here.. happily.. please do so," she said smiling and placing book in front of Kalpana, accepting her suggestion to solve all problems, "My brains is anyways really tired now to even think of what is X and Y all about." Kalpana looked at her disbelievingly, "I doubt there is anyone even born to help you, Ms. Kapoor. Hence aai has told me to take your headache," kalpi complained, "but look I do not have much of time to help you. I also have to do my homework and clean this kitchen," she told her in a very serious tone. Pakhi looked around at kitchen, which was in complete mess... "Gosh... Kalpana you are so slow... kamla maa would have finished this by now." Kalpana rolled her eyes... in a way to say whatever. Pakhi saw dishes were yet to be washed and floor sweeping was pending... and Kalpana was busy cooking "Kalpi let me help you out with dishes so you can finish off these stupid work real quick," said Pakhi and headed to sink without waiting for her reply. Pakhi took the scrub in her hand and rubbing it on the soap bar, she started applying the soap on unclean dishes, and made sure to rub them enough, to make it shine like Kamla maa makes their dishes, one by one, she started washing the dishes in the way she has seen Kamla doing it at their place, she first applied washing soap on plates and washed them all in a go, quickly she finished washing them and knowing how Kamla takes care of their house, she finds a clean cloth and dries them before placing them in their respective places. Meanwhile Kalpi had just finished boiling some potatoes for dinner that evening. Pakhi rolled her eyes, "what are you doing kalpi, we are still to sweep the floor and what are you doing there near fridge?" she asked. Kalpana was frustrated in kitchen, "I am trying to find something to peel the potatoes? I don't know where the heck aai keeps these things like knife and pillar..." as she searched on and Pakhi looked at boiled potatoes and sighed as she went there with knife she had and inserted knife in potatoes. Kalpi looked at her angrily, "you foolish girl, we have to peel them before cutting; remove that knife," she ordered. Pakhi snapped back as she took the potatoes and started peeling it off with her fingers and Kalpana looked on in shocked... how can she act so dumb at times, that too in front of Pakhi. "Well as what I have seen maa doing it we do not need peeler for peeling boiled potatoes... and kamla maa has habit of putting peelar near glasses board and Kalpana turned around to check near board and found peeler and chopper there; feeling embarrassed she apologized to Pakhi. "It's ok. You had been in boarding school and come here for weekends. And it is this time I get to have your help with my studies so for god's sake.. Please peel them while I sweep the floor," she offered. Kalpana stood there dumbfound thanking her star for only being here on weekends to help her as saw her bent low with a cloth and happily sweeping the kitchen floor neat and clean.

Soon enough girls finished their household chores and settled for some studies and with Kalpana guiding... well practically telling her what to write... completed their assignments too. She never faced teaching her second grade Students basics of additions like she was facing with Pakhi. On top of it the girl had become so dependent on using calculator even for simplest operation that made kalpi think had it been possible to type up whole problems in calculator and to derive answers she wouldn't have been embarrassed doing so. Such antiques of Pakhi made Kalpana wonder and asked her, "How would you solve these sums in exams? I mean since I am doing them for now and you are using calculator right now..."

Pakhi looked at her with broad and mocking smile as if kalpi had asked her something extremely stupid, "of course by heart them!!" came reply shocking Kalpana to no extent! She blinked her eyes thrice and yet decided to confirm what her ears heard, " You mean by heart formulas and steps and apply right? " pakhi nodded right to left and left to right, "of course not duh... I mean I will by heart questions and answers. Our schools anyways do not change a single number or even names from sums given... so who would even bother to learn these useless things?" countered Pakhi. Kalpana was utterly shocked and wondered if people like Pakhi can even exist. Is that how she reached class 8? "But pakhi this isn't science or history... leave aside we are not even supposed to rote learn those beautiful subjects. How the heck do you manage that with something like maths??" Kalpana couldn't help herself from asking that Pakhi, who just confirmed she by-hearts the sums. Pakhi took her book in her hand, "see like this..." she read something in her book for about 5 minutes and then placed the book on floor open. She read question aloud and had hidden the answer in book with her hands and started answering line to line and numbers, "Ramu weighs 4 kilos more than Shamu, let Shamu's weight be x, three traingular dots..."... "That stands for therefore," interrupted Kaplana. "Doesn't matter to me... But grrr... you broke my link. Now I will have to start again," frowned Pakhi. While Kalpana immediately spoke, "no need, I understood." Somewhere she was right even during board exams questions didn't much deviate from what was printed in text and if this parrot machine manages to by heart all textbook, guide and manuals she would manage to score 50% thankfully. And phew am taking commerce and am sure... This girl would not survive there and I will be free from her, she might chose arts and god bless her classmates was Kalpana's silent prayer for future victim.

Little did she know that she herself would be victim, rather she herself would have soon become dependent on the dangerous crackpot she was dealing with. It had become routine for Kalpana to do Pakhi's work while Pakhi would help Kalpana in her bit of household chore... however with time changing from days to weeks and weeks to months and months to years, soon there was complete handling of one domain by each. Didn't understand what I meant? Read on...

7 years later...

Kalpana was comfortably settled on her sofa... while her eyes remained glued to computer screen and once in a while would glance around on floor when she saw an army of ants around some left over sweet piece on the floor, "Paakhi," she called out, "Please swipe the floor properly, there are ants around and mom won't like it." Paakhi came around with a "Poccha" (cloth for cleaning the floor) in her hand and tried to locate the place Kalpi was indicating, "Ohh God, how in the world did I miss this? Thanks Kalpana," she said as she once again tucked her duppatta around her waist and sat down to clean it up, while Kalpana remained on the couch on her laptop, "So, is food ready?" she asked, still looking in computer, "Ohh Yes," came reply from Pakhi with beam and asked, "and what about my assignment Kalpi?" she looked Kalpana for an answer. Kalpana closed the laptop and smiled at her, "I have completed it..." it was no later when they heard the knock door which had shaken them, and Kalpana's hands immediately went on her head to make mess her hair. Kamla opened the door with keys, to find, Kalpana with mop in her hand and Pakhi on couch with laptop, she smiled happily seeing both their daughters, and she looked at Pakhi first, "Beta, is your work over? Did my multi-tasking daughter help you out as she cooked and cleared certain things," Pakhi didn't answer her in words but just smiled at her in assurance, and Kalpana turned to go to kitchen. As usual, Pakhi had kept bowl of "Khichdi" ready, and she picked up the bowl and headed to the hall, "Maa, see what I have made today, it's Khichdi!" Kalpi said happily, and taking a spoonful of rice, she made Kamla eat it, who caressed her head, "My Kalpi is all-rounder, not only is she smart academically, but has all the virtues of being a family woman," Kalpana turned around and rolled her eyes, while Pakhi wasn't quite happy with adoration that Kalpana was getting, many times had she wished to tell Kamla maa, that she is real owner of all her praises, but oh well, it was matter of her assignements.

Pakhi was still in her final year of graduation and within six months she would have had exams for her graduation. Then she would be Bachlors in Business Management, just like Kalpana, and maybe more than that, for she has skills of cooking and cleaning which Kalpana didn't. Plus she had family background, which had their own business and her life was set. Whereas Kalpana who inspite of being her age was enrolled in top MBA college for masters and was half way through 1st Year. Kalpana's interest had always been in marketing and advertising as a field, and she was indeed very creative. Kalpana had developed special liking for stitching clothes and painting, painting was something Vitthal was always fond of, while Kamla, was very good with adding new stitches, and embroidery. That was the way family used to convert most of their old clothes like new one during occasions, as they couldn't afford new clothes every now and then. Kalpana was hence enrolled in special classes for cloth painting and designing, which would definitely give her way to succeed after completing her MBA. To top it up for Pakhi, Kalpana was damn sure she would follow her suite very soon, after all a girl who can dare to take up commerce and business management, inspite of being 0 in her mathematical and logical aspects, could technically can do anything. Kalpana still would sit at times to recall how Pakhi showed her 100 watt smile, by telling her she would take up commerce just like Kalpana, afterall, she has family who runs their own companies in several industries.

On the other hand Raghav had just joined his father in his office, along with Sammy on his recommendation, both who had completed their graduation in engineering and were now in second year of MBA in UK, however with special grants and permission, under pretext of practical application, both had opted to be with home company in India.

(Let me Sort out funny ways, Bachlors in Business Administrations is 3 years, and Masters in Business Admin is 2 years; hence Kalpana is in 1st year, whereas Engineering is 4 year course, making Raghav and Sammy as well still students of MBA course... though am not tooo sure about it..)

Singhaniya's had foot in every industry, however, their major focus was on construction, hotels and textiles; however, they didn't spare home appliances, and gadget industries when it came to provide products and services in those fields too. Raghav had completed his engineering in civil, while Sammy was focused on textile engineering. In this way, both of these men were very much suitable to be part of Singhaniya's and carry on inherited business of Singhaniyas.

Chapter 3

Kalpana laid back on the couch once again relaxing, happily waiting for her father to make him taste the khichdi, which she had "apparently" made. She well knew it wasn't right on her part, but the happiness on her father's and mother's face made her ignore any of these things. "Why do I need to even care about these things right now? I can cook maggiee, make tea, and sandwiches, prepare rice and dal too and basic sabjiz, and my rotis often come circle, what's the point in learning other variations in food, people can live happily with all that I know, and those who have complain, can happily leave me alone, or find someone suitable," were her thoughts.

Kalpana had finally accepted, no matter what Pakhi is now her headache for longer duration. She started taking her seriously, however, it was still Kalpana who used to do her assignments but her major task was to make her do things, atleast some basics to make sure she can clear her written exams with minimum required scores; while Kalpana, herself would do her assignments where and then it was Pakhi who always scored highest in internals. Kalpana smiled at the thought, however, it wasn't a bad bargain, she thought as she looked around clean house and her family happy with her basic skills of cooking and cleaning. Kamla as well had another way of thinking, that by any chance if she is ill, and maid for some other family couldn't turn up, she can send Kalpana to earn a buck too.

Pakhi was indeed exhausted after working whole day long. Doing something which she preferred doing instead of what is expected from her, she thought while looking at files of printed presentation which were placed on the table. She closed her eyes, and recalled some cute moments, just last week. Sammy's maid, Kanta tai, couldn't visit their home, and Kamla maa was asked to just manage for a day or two. Kamla in turn thought of sending Kalpana, and Sammy's parents too awaited seeing Kalpana. However, since Kalpana had to be busy with her own assignment and Pakhi's too, it was Pakhi who had to end up as Kalpana in their house, after confirming from Sammy her parents wouldn't identify her," her thoughts paused, "Hasn't Sammy been too supportive to me, he is sweet heart and so are his parents," Sammy's parents were instantly impressed by Pakhi, and thought her to be Kalpana, urf, Kamla's biological daughter. Nothing made Pakhi happier, when Sammy's parents told her; she was just a reflection of Kamla, when it comes to work. She smiled in today's day as she opened her eyes, overcoming disappointment she had felt when Kamla showered her love on Kalpana today.

Pakhi got up from her sofa and headed to refresh herself for party. Afterall her brother Raghav had gifted her expensive dress. Soon after she left the hall, Raghav entered the house, and was on couch, completely tired, "Ooof, I had never thought interning in your own organization can be so tiring," **Beep BeeP** he received SMS from Sammy reminding him about the party, and he got up from the chair to call Pakhi, when his eyes fell on the file on table. He picked up the file, which seemed something of her assignments and begun to just go through the pages, which looked attractive right from cover design.

As he turned pages to pages, his admiration kept on increasing to find the assignment was completed with such perfection, that there would be no question to be asked for the work done, it covered all the information required of customer to know, infact the design the chocolate wrapper was designed with deep thoughts. Pakhi came downstairs wiping her wet face, she was shocked seeing Raghav going through the file and within no seconds snatched it from his hand, making Raghav look at her confused, and as usual 100 watt smiled, followed with words, "This is just a submission of my work tomorrow, I thought to place it in bag right away," and she turned to leave, "Have you done all that?" she heard Raghav ask, and closed her eyes, tightly but still trying to be confident, she turned to him, "If it's my assignment I assume I have done it, of course I won't be asking any outsider to do it, Right?" she replied. Raghav smiled at her, "You have done it very nicely, I am sure you are asset for an organization you are working in future, I loved the way, you have written about Silken Chocolates,.." he was cut by sudden reaction, "Silken Chocolate?" Pakhi's smile widen on that name, "Wow! Sounds exciting, is that new brand, where is it?" she asked in excitement. Raghav blinked at her several times, "That was in your project file, so you should know it, not me? ANd neither have I heard about it!" said Raghav. While Pakhi bit her tongue for stupidity, and she tried changing the topic to party they are supposed to head for and cursed Kalpana for having such "yummilious name... that too after a type cloth silk. At least she could have told the name... oof pakhi you stupid woman, you should have asked."

5 Months Later

"What??" Screamed Raghav on phone, "how can you do this now? Its only matter of 3 months dude... please just stay back and manage it for now.. we are soon reaching break even and earning profits buddy.." he requested, "look I know but can't you postpone your marriage for a while more.. we have invested hell loads of time and our instuition has provided loads of money on it," he suggested while reasoning. He rolls his eyes and abruptly cuts the call frustrated. "What happened ? " sammy asked as he entered in cabin looking at his disappointed face. Raghav got up from his chair quickly and looked outside winodw, "Joseph has decided to call it a quit to our project. We had employed him for 1 year which ends next month," he informed and Sammy was utterly shocked for knowing one of the employee leaving the club at such crucial time. "Oh shit.." he reacted, "now what?"

Raghav looked back at him, "we quickly need to find a replacement, wish the year wouldn't have been delayed and we would have reached completion by now!"

Sammy looked at him, "You think finding replacement is easy??? Dude he was designing ads and we have exhibition in few weeks. Gosh I hope.. we get things sorted or wait let me start working on it," suggested Sammy while placing reassuring hands on Raghav's shoulder, "we will manage Raghav! Don't worry.." While Raghav just nodded and suddenly something had stricked him.. But he decided to keep it to himself for time being.

Next day Raghav came to his office. His eyes were smiling as if all his problems were solved. Sammy saw him coming smiling and wishing everyone good morning. Sammy went to him and he wished him good morning and happily hugged him. He ordered two black coffees and both of them went inside Sammy's cabin. "What's the matter Raghav ? You seemed quite tense yesterday and today you are sounding pretty happy," he enquired. "Well sammy," begun the reply but was cut with interuption of Ramu bringing in coffee. While Sammy had just started with a sip, of coffee and he asked "yeah, you were saying something,..." Raghav grinned, "You know I found replacement for Joseph.." said Raghav gleefully. Sammy was indeed very happy to know that as he questioned him further, about the person, he was referring too? "Paakhi!" came Raghav's reply, making Sammy spit like fountain from his mouth the coffee he had just had on the table and started coughing, making Raghav feel ewww... "Sammy! What's up with you?" Sammy just apologized, while cleaning off his mouth with hanky while Raghav called Ramu to clean up. "Pakhi?" Sammy stammered as he confirmed hoping his ears would have betrayed him. "Yes Sammy!! Pakhi, I will take Pakhi to London, and where she will help me out," he completed. Raghav turned around, to head back to his seat, "I had seen her work, if she submits such a wonderful assignments, I cannot imagine, how beautifully would she be handling my department, anyways she would too be interested in joining the course there, it will just add an hands on experience for her!" Raghav completed, shocking Sammy to no extent, while he tried to make him change his minds, "Well she has exams to attend and how would she manage, why not ask Kamla aunty's daughter Kalpana, afterall she had topped in graduation in whole university!" suggested Sammy very quickly. "Sammy, why will I take some outsider, when I have an able family member, that too Kalpana? Goshh.. No ways, half of her time she would be in shock and surprise over being new country and I cannot imagine, how will Kamla bai's daughter even adjust there, who has stayed in chawl all her life, I still remember how surprised was she to even see the computer very first time in my house, as it was some magic box and she kept on touching it, like some pearls, how irritating ..." Sammy rolled his eyes at his statement, "Raghav, she was kid at that time, and she has been using computers now, maybe more than you..." Sammy told Raghav, "Still she won't be able to adjust in the world so big outside chawl, and Pakhi will be completing her exams at right time. I haven't told her anything, but had asked her date for last exam. This will be surprise package for her," saying so Raghav smiled excitedly. Sammy realized, things are soon going to be screwed, so he had to act fast.
