Hate me, slap me, scold me or if I am lucky, love me for this FF. But this was one of the fictions I have always aspired to write. A love story which crosses the boundaries of our society, and a story of my dreams. I sincerely hope you all like it, if not as much as I love you all then a bit, maybe 0.0001%.

With hope that you all with support me and my works like you always do,
Yagya

Prologue

Marriage.

The one word of English dictionary around which the thoughts of Indian society are centered more than any other word in the dictionary.

But it can also be the one word which can destroy many lives altogether. In a place like India marriage is considered to be the most sacred institution and relationship which unites two families. But what about uniting two different people? Is marriage just enough for two people to unite? Or does unification of two souls needs something more than this?

A successful marriage is based on trust, respect, concern, loyalty, friendship and most of all, love. But if not all these at least it is definitely not based upon fear or greed. Because any relationship based on fear or greed, can never be successful on a long run. But surprisingly many marriages take place in India either take place due to fear of families or the society OR due to greed of something bigger than one has in their lives.

Often we find that in Indian societies, the marriages are almost forced on the girl, directly or indirectly. From saying that, 'This is the best alliance you can ever get, Beta.' to ' We gave birth to you. Don't we have at least this much right on you? You don't trust us?' or maybe even, ' What kind of daughter have we begotten? Maybe she has an affair with someone else. Hayye, we are ruined because you! What will answer to our neighborhood Kokila Behen?'.

As if this was not painful enough, a lady who has had divorced her husband for some goddamn reason, is looked down upon as if she committed some sin.

Does this really result in happy marriages? Did the sacred texts really give instructions to force a relationship as pure as that of marriage on someone? The answer is a clear 'No'. Especially if the marriage is happening at the cost of someone's love and someone's dream.
After all, marriage is like a paint which beautifies the building of love, by making it look presentable to the society we live in. But sadly it has no existence of its own without love. But love, however ugly and inappropriate it is, can survive without the name, the cover which the society prefers;Marriage.

Follow the story of Khushi Kumari Gupta, a princess and the forced fiancee of Rahul Kapoor, the son of a top businessman, and madly and irrevocably in love with Arnav Singh Raizada, an alumni of Indian Institute of Management who has begun his own business from a scratch. The society made their love forbidden, but their love was something which cannot be forgotten.

Their love crossed all the borders of the society to recreate the definition of love but in this heated war of social norms and love, will love win?

It is Khushi who loves Arnav. Or else log mujhe maar denge! The sentence meant that Khushi though is engaged to Rahul, loves Arnav.
