Khushi was impatiently glancing at her watch as she waited for Arnav to come into the park. She had beautiful memories associated with the park. Arnav had proposed her post their acting-wedding in the same park while their last meeting before she left to Delhi also took place in the same park.

Memories brought nostalgia as her throat dried up in the memories of their last meeting. Though they were in contact through texts and chats, this was their first meeting after months and the very thought stirred a fuzzy feeling in her abdomen. She didn't know what she would tell to her love, as her heart wanted to tell him everything all at once but she didn't know how because she knew that there were no words which could describe those warm feelings which made her brain go haywire.

Her eyes suddenly landed upon the sight of her Arnav, who was searching for Lavanya as she was the one who had called him to the park. A genuine smile adorned her face ,a smile which only Arnav could bring on her face with his immense love for her.

As their gazes clashed with each other, the heartbeats paced as their breaths halted as their gazes locked with each other, trying to compensate for every second they spent without each other. Searching for the answers for the unvoiced questions, searching for the feelings which were reciprocated from their ends, they both felt some force pulling them towards each other, as if bound by a invisible string.

"Khushi..."

Her name taken from his mouth sounded like a prayer of peace to her as she felt every worry, every uneasiness vanish from the darkest corners of her. While Arnav moved towards her involuntarily, she felt the warmth rising on her cheeks along with his favorite color, red.

Words seemed forgotten as love of their lives stood in flesh in front of them. They both were imagining, dreaming this moment since their parting but the reality was all the more soulful than they could imagine. Finally, the boon of speech seemed to return to Arnav though he was still in the mesmerizing spell of his dear wife.

" Khushi, you here? Is everything alright?"

Arnav's husky voice brought Khushi back to earth from the deep pools of his chocolate brown eyes. Khushi straightened herself up while she was embarrassed to get lost in him so much as she tried to speak up,

" By Devi Maiyya's grace, everything is perfectly alright, Arnav. My engagement with that Rahul broke, in fact it was broken by his own mother. As for your first question, I am here to tell you something."

What was that she wanted to tell when her engagement broke? That dreamy look on her face was giving him expectations which he didn't want to get resurfaced and he decided to break them off before being born by questioning her and not raising the hopes of his adamant heart.

" I am extremely happy for you that you got rid of that jerk, Khushi. But what is that you want to tell me that brought you to Lucknow from Delhi? Is it something serious?" Arnav's concerned voice made her smile a bit more while he was losing himself in her seeing her smile in front of him.

"I was never this serious in my life, Arnav. I know I have been extremely wrong in the past to have rejected you but believe me, Rahul's touches seemed so inappropriate me because I felt that the right to touch me was of someone else and my heart can never give him the permission to touch me. And that right lies with you, Arnav. My heart has beaten for you ever since that sacred act, but the fear of my parents stopped me. I am sure that after seeing your love, dedication and nature anyone would accept you as their son-in-law and that doesn't exclude my parents. Will you marry your love and your wife once again, Arnav?"

It seemed like the shock of his life for Arnav, who didn't know whether he had to rejoice or feel used by her as she came back after her fiance left her. But somehow hurt always prevailed in the words of those who loved the most,

" It is okay if you don't accept my love, Khushi. But don't insult me and my love so much. You want me back in your life because your fiance left you? You want someone to fan the flame of your ego? You are used to men running behind you and with none behind you right now, you decide to accept that person whom you have been rejecting every second of your life. If you had accepted me even when your alliance was still on, I would have felt as if I have conquered the world but by uttering these words now, you have made me lose everything, Khushi. Where was this love of yours when you rejected me every second and accepted Rahul as your fiance, Khushi? Where was this love when you said that marriage was just an act, nothing more, nothing less? Where was this love when your spurned every advance of mine to at least see you? I am sorry to disappoint Khushi, but I will not be able to complete this demand of yours."

Her love questioning the authenticity of her love towards him was the greatest pain ever. Khushi immediately help Arnav's hand as he way trying to leave when an old lady caught their sight.

" Aaj Kal Ke Ladkiyan, they don't have any shame before throwing themselves on boys they don't even know." An old lady remarked seeing Khushi stopping Arnav by holding his hand, while Arnav's blood boiled seeing a random person commenting on his Khushi's character.

" What do you mean by 'boys they don't even know', Aunty? She is my wife and she has all the rights reserved on me. And she is not throwing herself on me, she is just holding my hand, which maybe a friend can also do. Stop seeing everything with a bad sight, Aunty. Not every touch of our generation is meant to seduce."

Arnav's feelings confused her and killed her from within. He was not ready to accept her love but he was ready to defend her? Tears flowed from her eyes all the way to the hand which she held, which made Arnav turn and face her tearstrained, grief--stricken and pain-filled face.

The old lady left from there after giving them angry looks but time halted for them as a rhythm of pain reverberated in their eyedrums.

Didn't want to believe but cannot leave her alone. What would one name this love?

I understand Khushi loved Arnav and she wanted him back in her life, but even Arnav wasn't wrong... 😔

Awesome update. Khushi not wanting to accept Arnav's proposal earlier is justified and so is Arnav's pain and hurt at her coming back to him now. But i am sure they will find a way out of this and Arnav will ubderstand her.
