Yes. After deducting satellite, music, and DVD rights from the actual budget.
Plus it depends how the distributor did the deal with the producer. An article came out at the beginning of this year that said UTV will not pay anything to Nadiadwala and the lead actors. Nadiad and the actors will get profit (distributor's profit) share. This was done to cut cost and as this was their risky project. Last year they did the same with Haider. Gave VB (the producer-director) and Shahid profit share.
So, the budget is not as high as everyone is assuming. And Kabir's claim that it's a 30-35 cr. movie is believable. Add 12 cr. to it as promotion cost. (It was a moderately promoted movie). Total budget 42-47 cr.
18-19 cr. they'd easily make from satellite, music, and DVD rights. So, they'd need to recover 24-29 cr. from theaters. 24X2 = 48 cr, 29X2 = 58 cr. <--- That's the amount they'd need to make from theaters worldwide to recover cost.
If I'm not wrong, it has already made 65-66 cr worldwide (54cr India + 11-12cr overseas).
The movie has recovered cost.
