You are right. She did not go to the police station. She accidentally reached there while finding her way home. If there was somebody's house there instead of police station, she would have gone and asked for help as she was in need.

When she saw the police, she remembered jagya's words and ran towadrs the police.

Thanks for clarification. Actually, I miss dialogues and therefore, doubts remain whether I understood right. What if Nimboli was saying to herself that she has to reach police etc. that is why I asked. It did not looked like Nimboli thought only police can help her or she needs help from outsiders only.
