'How steamy can you get on TV?'

You aren't taking up any TV shows... are you on a break?

Break is a wrong word. What exactly is a break? You are doing something or the other all the time. I've got my play which has kept me busy. I'm also shooting for Aroonaji's Doli Saja Ke which, of course, is a cameo.

You have signed a Dharmesh Darshan film starring other TV actors...

I won't deny that. But I'd rather not speak anything and wait for the right people to throw light on it.

Are you quitting TV for films? Some actors, who did so have regretted their decision...

I really can't say anything right now. Television has given me popularity. There's no question of sidelining TV. Yes if I'm looking at films I'd like to give it my best. I've always worked like that. I like to focus on one thing at a time. I always did one serial at a time.

Your steamy scenes in your last show Viraasat are still talked about...

There were no steamy scenes! How steamy can you get on TV? It was a track showing consummation of marriage. How much can you really show on TV? It just got blown out of proportion. On TV even if two people come close to each other it gets branded as steamy!

Now that you are doing theatre as well, how would you compare it with TV?

There's no comparison. Both have their own challenges. It's all about how comfortable you can make yourself, whether in theatre or a TV show. Luckily, I've had the opportunity of working with good directors and actors.
