My preference as actresses is:

Rani

Kajol

Priyanka

Vidya

Kareena

Kangana

Purely based on talent without considering body of work I would say: Kajol, Rani, Vidya, Priyanka, Kareena, Kangana. The reason Kajol and Vidya here feature above Rani and Priyanka respectively is because these two are born talented while the latter two are more crafted. But especially Rani and Kajol are otherwise at par with each other. Vidya's failing over Priyanka is that she doesn't have a lot roles to remember her by. Only Kahaani and Manjulika act in Bhool Bhulaiya really stood out, others were monotonous. Priyanka, on the other hand, has been a risk-taker and her roles have had great variation.

How does one diffrentiate between who's born talented and who's more crafted? What makes you say Kajol and Vidya are born talented if they can't show that talent in their body of work? I mean how do you assess talent?

Kareena. (She could have been in the top teir. A brilliant actress but her thinking capabilities are equally dumb).

Rani.

Kajol/Kangana.

I have never been impressed by Kajol. She plays the same role over and over from what I have seen.

And Kangana needs a lot of time before she can match up to the likes of Vidya and PC.

Vidya is brilliant. Her expressions to body language to dailogue dilivery; everything is damn near perfect. She needs to pick up a good script soon.

Tabu tops them all though.

The one who can act better from the get-go is born with it whereas one who shows more growth over her career is the more crafted one. For eg, Kajol was better in her initial films compared to Rani but over the years Rani has really come into her own. She has accomplished so much by constantly striving to learn and improve as a performer. Rani has inherent talent as well but she is not as gifted as Kajol.

I can't believe so many people think that the likes of Rani/ Kajol are more talented than PC- Vidya? 😳 Kangana I understand when people place low cause she has just started giving stellar performances but the others have been there for some time. Honestly I don't think the likes of rani- Kajol do match up to the acting talent of actresses of this generation. These actresses are more hardworking, choose riskier films and are impeccable. But of course everyone has their own opinion.

I judge the actresses purely on the basis of how irreplaceable & impeccable they are:

PC - anyday! She has proved her talent time & beyond but always underrated.
Vidya- She is actually a treat to watch! What impeccable dialogue delivery - the best of the best!
Kangana- She has just won me over with two films! Queen & as datto- irreplaceable & flawless.
Kareena & Kajol - Very few actresses can do comedy & these two are the best in that! JWM & Kajol for K3G how awesome were they 😆 Though to be fair Kareena is a little better actress than Kajol.
Rani- I don't like rani as an actress much! I think she underacts. But I love her in those bindaas roles- NOKJ & Mardani- sadly she didn't explore that genre much! She could've been great there.

I wanted to put Vidya at #1, but I don't think she's experimented as much as Rani and Kajol who have played many versatile roles!
