The way this RSS-BJP people imposing morality, is this freedom?

I echo Dilip da and NJ's feelings. Where there is no respect for women and the state of women and children (from low income families) in India is beyond pathetic, where the leaders are corrupt down to the core, where cast system is still practiced, there is a much longer list to be wished for than was in 1947. So, let's pray and hope for a better India on this day, better place to live in for all the human beings residing in it. Let that quote - Sare jahan se achcha hindostaan hamara - really come true. AMEN!!

And what an irony - we celebrate India day parade in NYC in full swing every year with many B-town celebrities. I never attend. This year we have Arjun Rampal and Shankar Mahadevan coming. I cannot drag myself to the festivities for the sake of chaat and samosas, when there are so many suffering back home. I want to look at the positive developments in the country, but they are MUCH smaller compared to the desires. So wishing for the best and really wish that the hope tree of NaMo -"achche din aayenge" will reap the desired fruits.
