1993

This year was the biggest injustice. Because out of the 5 nominees, I personally feel Juhi was the weakest. However I am not saying she was weak. She was very good in HHRPK. But Meenakshi was outstanding in and as Damini. Dimple Kapadia was stupendous in and as Rudaali. Madhuri Dixit was flawless as Ganga in Khalnayak and Sridevi was immaculate as Roshni in Gumrah.

Side note: Juhi had a fantastic year with Aaina + Darr + Lootere and it was nice to see her break the Sri-Mads monopoly.

2012

I would have given it to Sridevi in English Vinglish. But Priyanka Chopra was beyond excellent in Barfi! And Vidya was also deserving for Kahaani. But again I would award Sri.

1996: Manisha should have won for Khamoshi.

2001: Tabu should have won for Chandni Bar.

2004: Urmila should have won for Ek Hasina Thi.

Sometimes an actress wins for a popular film but she was actually more impressive in another film in the same year...

1994: Madhuri in Anjaam over HAHK

1998: Kajol in Dushman over KKHH

2010: Kajol in We Are Family over MNIK

I thought both Vidya and Priyanka were overreacted in Kahaani and Barfi! Sridevi should've gotten the award!

PC was outstanding, Jhilmil is one of my most favorite character in recent years

But I guess they gave it to Vidya ,because she carried the film on her own.She was pretty awesome too

Kajol is one of the most overrated actress,Both she and SRK hams like hell ..Tabu deserves it more than anyone ..Similarly They didn't even nominate Konkona for Wake up sid ..What were they thinking

Meenakshi was fab in Damini . and way more better than Juhi

LOL. I guess I'm in the minority who thinks Vidya very much deserved the award in 2012. I don't think it was an unfair decision or something.

Hope you read my INSIDE SCOOP post on FF BA 2012 selection. W'ld be great to get your thoughts there... but 2012 is an unsual year.. multiple frontrunners.

I also agree on the observation on recognition for a popular film over a critical film for an actress in the same year.
