Its like popular girls trying to bitch the not-so-popular gal in school. They do it because they think they can do it and get away with it, it feels kool to them and they justify it using pretentious self-righteousness. And, of course, all the boys join them in this fun. So, it feels even more kool and justified.

Ash thought she got Bachchan surname and was all up in the air about it, but Rani beat her to that by getting YRF. Rani may not be as pretty as Ash/PZ(earlier days) but she has a better filmography. Her role in BLACK beats every other role ever played by any actress of their generation. So, PZ needs to take a chill pill, she may have been popular in her heydays but no one gives a damn about her anymore. At least Rani is still relevant because of YRF.
