TWMR, whats was so great about it?

Serious question.

I just finished watching and was really disappointed. The movie was crazily hyped by all the people who saw it. My friends were praising it when they went for it.

Now don't get me wrong. I am not saying the movie was bad but I don't understand why its so good? I mean story is strictly average and I didn't feel any connection between bangs kangana and madhavan. Long haired kangana was also lost in the plot somewhere in between.

Also I don't understand why long haired kangana got madhavan. Shouldn't it be bangs kangana? We know long haired kangana is a bitch.

Someone care to explain.

PS: pappi was awesome. only thing worth seeing in the movie

I actually don't understand the hype about pappi ji either.

I think the only things not overhyped about this movie are kangana's acting and the soundtrack.

Also the director was accused of glorifying a hero with stalkerish tendencies who could not take a no(in ranjhana) and he did it again with pappi's character.

I didnt like it so much either. I thought it is going to be one of the films that will make great repeat viewings, but it is strictly one time watch.

Actors were good but story was haywire. So many random characters kept entering and leaving throughout the movie and also the kidnapping plot was so W*F. Like who approved that idea when they were writing the script?

I don't know about others, but for me, the dialogues and setting of the movie were like the biggest plus points, especially the essence of small towns in North India. Right from the wedding video, where Manu's photos are chipkaoed on Tanu's mehendi or children dozing off during the var-maala due to odd timings. The tenant who takes advantage of his law degree and occupies the rented room or Datto trying to sing the old-school girl in an amreekan accent.😆

It's so fresh and apt in its depiction. And the dialogues written are so relatable and kickass. The way the lawyer, shuts the chat-wallah by saying "Tum sasur lagte ho"? or "Tum kya salman khan ho, jo commitment issues chal rahe hai" or "Saale ko original bhi yehi rakhenge aur duplicate bhi" or "Ek ka toh divorce shaadi ke agle din hi karwa diya" etc..etc.. These are like just a fraction of gems that are actually in the movie. 😆

I don't think anybody expected the dialogues to be so hilariously amazing. It's like guaranteed 2 hours of absolute entertainment and has terrific repeat value.

P.S. Well it's a long essay, but it was worth revisiting the movie. 😆

I I agree. When I finished the film I was like what was so great about this film that it became such huge hit. This is why I need to stop taking hits and flops seriously. Only thing I liked about the film was Kangana's acting and yeah some dilogues were good. But it's not a film I would wanna watch again. BB on the other hand, you wanna watch it multiple of times. It's a sweet film.

they have made tanu character so selfish in TWMR (that's how the whole plot seemed if u consider other kangna(datto) character... poor her :/ even though I wanted tanu and Manu to get back together in the end but kinda felt bad for datto .. it was a datto movie more than of tanu/manu

edit - hype I totally get it.. first trailer itself was epic.. Kangana always seems interesting to me onscreen.. Everything about datto was never scene before .. her accent, clothes 😃
pappi ji is smthg else 🥳 I will watch a boring movie just fr him but then it won't be so boring..
most of the people were actually waiting to see madhavan and jimmy in this movie.. even kangna's friend and her husband' characters are solid
