I think Tabu deserved for Astitva that year...just saying. Karisma was amazing in Fiza but Tabu was heart-wrenching in Astitva.

Don't know if you guys agree.

Karisma in Fiza was mind bogglingly outstanding and definitely deserved it.

Tabu is talented as hell and she was superb in Astitva. I watched it again on Eros and I loved her in it.

But Karisma in and as Fiza had so many more layers and scope. That scene when she goes into her dead mother's room and picks up her old clothes and breaks down in tears is one of the most natural and gut-wrenching scenes I've ever seen.

Karishma deserved it 100%
No denying that Tabu is way more talented but that particular year, Lolo was something else in Fiza

Well, I loved Karisma's performance but don't know...Tabu's role was more strtained, less scope but she was astounding.

Karisma got popular awards and Tabu got Critics awards.

So it has evened out. Both deserving ones got their recognition.

What's the debate for?

Both were brilliant in their films and both films had very strong, unique roles for female leads.

As per this forum, Tabu deserves every single award on this earth every year. Tabu is a fantastic actress but this forum is just over praising her.

Absolutely agree! Tabu's performances in Astitiva of Karishma's in Fiza any day. Karishma is a highly overrated actress to begin with. Can't do many roles without her usual heavy breathing hamming. Fiza isn't a great film. So many inexplicable parts like the mother who was once shown to be so strong committing suicide. Leaving her daughter all alone. The love story out of place. Karishma was good in parts but it's honestly not that great of a performance. Zubeida is the only great performance by Karishma's. Tabu was fab in Astitiva.
