Films with disappointing endings and memorable endings (Spoilers)

Endings that I liked:

Queen: I was so glad that Rani did not go back to her fiance, and chose to walk away. I also loved the fact that the makers did not pair her with any of her friends that she met abroad, else it would have been a typical Bollywood ending.

Anjaam: The ending was quite powerful. Usually in Hindi films, the protagonist 'emerges victorious' in the end and good triumphs over evil, but here Shivani kills herself to ensure that her revenge is complete. There were no winners in this story.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu: Once again, it was good to see an ending where the makers did not think it was necessary to show the guy relentlessly pursuing the girl to 'make her' fall in love with him. I liked the open ending, which one rarely gets to see in Bollywood.

Endings that I did not like:

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai- Anjali should have married Aman. She was Rahul's second choice and he only fell in love with her when she became a hottie. 😆

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam- I feel that Nandini did not give Sameer much of a chance to prove his love to her. The end seemed to about her duty and loyalty towards Vanraaj. When I watched the film the first time, I thought the ending was fine, but after watching it again, I feel that Sameer got a raw deal.

Bewafaa- Another film about the 'adarsh bhartiya nari', in which Anjali stays with her husband who she married out of 'duty', instead of the man she loves. It did not help that Aditya (her husband) came across as emotionally manipulative at times. Overall, the film was quite regressive.

Tere naam - Nijera shouldn't end her life. Radhey was on his way .. He was recorvering. She was his strength.
^ Tere Naam was one of d best movie of Salman's <3 I cried no matter how many time I watched it.

Kabhi alvida na kehna - I don't want to say anything abt this movie. Chup rehna hi acha hai !!

I actually liked Tere Naam's ending. It makes it more memorable IMO. What an intense movie.

Queen: So glad she dumped the loser.

Baghban: Those horrible ungrateful children got what they deserved for treating their parents so badly.

KKHH: I agree with you TM. Wish she stayed with Aman.

Aashiqui 2: Really wished Rahul and Arohi got a happy ending.

NY: Wish Kat's character didn't have to die. It was one thing killing John but she was innocent.

SOTY: What a stupid ending (not that the movie was great either). Two BFFs fight each other after one steals the other one's GF and hold a grudge for 10 years and it's resolved within minutes after throwing a few punches and pushing and shoving.

the ending i didnot like is Ranjhanna...my heart broke seeing kundan's death..but then again may be that is the best ending for the movie success..
and the same reason for kamal-sridevi starrer SADMA ..sridevi should recognise kamal and they should live happily...in the ending i cursed sridevi for not recognising him...😆

^As heartbreaking it was to see Kundan's death, I feel it just left a bigger impact than any other possibility. I don't think Kundan and Zoya could have gotten together or lived happily.

I like the ones mentioned so far for both disappointing and memorable endings.

The only one I can think of right now is that the ending of Rang De Basanti was beautiful, beautifully sad. Government corruption exists everywhere. But these college kids basically broke the law turned violent and something like that never works, certainly not in a democracy. I'm glad that it didn't become a clich filmy ending where the bad guys surrender or go to jail and the "heroes" will come out celebrated and worshiped. Having said that, I was also annoyed that Soha Ali Khan's character didn't face any consequences since she was the one who put the idea of killing the prime minister in the boys' head.

I agree with ur HDDCS and KKH reason . I also wanted the same endings which u said .

Tere Naam - My GOD !! What a heart wrenching movie & ending it was !! Truly a MASTER PIECE . Salman nailed it completely 👏 . he was so terrific especially in ending that after watching the ending once ..I didn't get the courage to watch the ending again . Although I wanted Radhe to be with Nirjala ..But I think the Ending made the Film Unforgettable ⭐️

Raanjhanna - From name itself it depicts that it was all about Kundan and his love for Zoya . I really didn't want to see Kundan dying at all ..Instead Of I wanted Zoya to die coz I HATED her Character like anything . She was such a Selfish mean character (WONDERFUL Job by Sonam to make me feel like that) . Zoya never ever deserved Kundan .

Karishma should have kicked Salman's ass out of the house once he came back!
