Hmm good post. I do agree with you to a certain extent. Wish we had more choice but alas!

However, with the gine chune choice that we have, I don't really care whether they came from inside or outside. Not gonna pay to watch a still face on screen just to support some outsider & feel generous. Aloo baby over frozen Kriti anyday 😆

may be aloo baby vs. nearly unaccountable outsiders choice bcoz kirti is not outsider ( with recommendation) nor may be 99% debut bolly hero and heroines. if choice is ours than we will go for math probability but when our choice decided by producers , papa mama of bolllywoods kids and more importantly their paid PR and marketing the ultimately it inclined from viewer to creater aka nepotism.

just like jinjola it a teco powder but if it would have a cola than have to face all production, distribution channel , PR , marketing, channel and advertisement of giant colas. which is nearly difficult to break in the current market context of pepsi and cola. 😆

Untalented outsiders don't even get a chance. But untalented, ugly, expressionless starkids even complete decade in industry. 😆

Talented outsiders.

They are not rare. Just that they aren't given chances.

Rather talented starkid is a rarity. Most of them are useless but shoved down our throats and given too many chances, handed everything on a platter. Quite a lot of them are ugly also and wouldn't get a second look if they weren't star kids.

Underdog etc is nonsense. History has proven outsiders are better. Rajesh Khanna, AB, SRK, Dharmendra, Mithun, Jeetendra, Akshay, Rajendra Kumar, Sunil Dutt, Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Hema Malini, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai, Juhi Chawla, etc, most of the top stars are all outsiders.

to a certain extent i agree with u , compare option with our option to their generation. We are just forced to chose between few . These nepotism dictate us where as those outsiders dictate our bollywood with terrific performance.

IIeana is a good actress and she was amazing in Barfi, but when it comes to commercial films she falls flat on her face, have you seen her in Main Tera Hero? 🥱 That's where Alia is better than both Yami and IIeana, Alia might not be as gorgeous as them, but she fits perfectly in commercial films over these two. Both Yami and IIeana lack screen presence as well. A commercial actress needs a good screen presence to survive Bollywood. That's why Kirti is doing better than them these days, she has decent screen presence.

A lot of parents usually push for their children
Using their connections to set up interviews or getting them internships or hiring them in their own firms or getting them jobs at friend's businesses which they might not have gotten on their own merit
Obviously it will happen in Bollywood as well 🤓

if Talented Parineeti is not offered a movie, she sits at home.

And on the same side... if our super Untalented i-kaun does not have work, Papa kapoor will produce a movie for her.. to shove her down our throat even harder. 🤢

So, yeah... call them underdog.. or whatever. call me prejudiced.. or whatever. 😛 I chose Outsiders to starkids. under-privileged over privileged any freakin.. f**kin day.

For me anyone is talented is my preference. If outsiders fail then their careers end but for star kids it does not matter. I just do not want to see any talentless star-kids on screen anymore as we have ridiculous amount of star kids in Bollywood and in regional cinemas.
