Part 20

Perhaps it's normal to be mentally absent when you're broken at your heart. Despite being surrounded with thousand people, quarreling, smiling, romancing and some of them just doing exactly nothing to describe, you keep on thinking of that one person who could mean the world to you if he had anyway allowed you to. You keep on waiting for his presence around you, inspite of knowing that it would be honestly impossible to expect from that heartless soul who just let you be hurt because of some stupid reasons.

"I just hate you randhir, for making me the helpless and worthless creature alive. But that doesn't mean I can forget you. You'll be in my memories, forever, as you've been the best thing that ever happened to me. No matter how badly I've been missing you, how badly I need just a one occasion to cling on to you, how badly I want to be with you right here, I'll let you go this time. I'll move on for you. For us!!." In the last 20 minutes since she was with aarush, she had hallucinated her love in the mall for around 10 times which made her restless and think of him. She could feel him in the wind; she could feel his smoke there but perhaps because she was craving to see him already. Why wouldn't she be? afterall it was for the very first time that they were not together for so long.

"Where have you been my dear?? You look lost. Is anything bothering you from a significant while? Look!! May be it's about things you were to tell me? May be you just promised to tell me something in a hurry of being not mentally present here but sanyukta if you've changed your mind then don't bother. It won't matter. Just be easy with me here." The good side of aarush woke up after ages to care for his only best friend cum love who looked lost just after promising him of something to tell for his happiness which he had already assumed of about her supposed love for himself.

"Na na!! I'm fine. I need to eat sooner. It's just that." She smiled at him and assured him that she was all conscious when she made that promise to him.

"Cool then!! Let's just buy some good stuff for both of us and then we'll be leaving for a lunch?" he held her hand and dragged her to a garment shop. It sold the best ever clothes of the city and she could definitely buy that one dress here.

"You know me too well No aarush?? You know I wanted to have it from here." She smiled again at his friend with a strong determination of something within her brain to which he smiled back and ordered the seller to show dresses for sanyukta.

One after the other she rejected the whole shop almost when suddenly a dummy snatched her attention. The dress over there was enough to make her sigh but it wasn't just that, there was something unusual that attracted her beyond her will and she stepped to it slowly.

A small light green top with pink borders that could hang upto her waist exposing it a little, and a long skirt of multicolor shades was covering the dummy. The top had a zipper from the top to waist. She was busy admiring it for no reasons when aarush pat at her shoulder.

"Don't tell me you're gonna buy it AND that too rejecting pieces that looked quite better than this." He spoke slowly not believing his eyes. She gave a stern look to him.

"What?? Are you quite certain?? This isn't your style. You'll look awfully strange." He cried to make her remind her sense of dressing.

"I don't know but I want this." She ignored his expressions and gestured the shopkeeper to pack the dress while she kept holding herself near the dummy. As it was done she was going to follow aarush to the exit when something weird went noticed by her. She felt as if the dummy could see her. She sensed its eyes scanning her but as soon as she focused she could say that dummy was as stoned as it should be and she pressed the shoulder of the dummy with her hand and squeezed it a little before leaving the site.

"You've grown too weird sanyukta, but leave it now let's eat something for the sake of these hungry stomachs. Holding her bags the chatterbox kept on chatting and entertaining her when sooner they were in a food corner.

He made her sit on a chair and settled himself too while she checked the menu card. She ordered food for both of them and voiced. "And Mr. aarush has grown so civil these days."

"Is it?? Well that sounds nice." He laughed a little.

"No!! Perhaps I'm wrong, you've been always civil to me aarush in fact it was me who went on being rude to you." They had started having the food by now when within the conversation she thought of sharing that piece of shit she wanted to tell him by long.

"You think so?? Well!! I never found you rude my dear. In fact you've been too sweet to me always. There's hardly anything that can make me believe so."

"No I was!! I know now how you feel when you get rejected by that one person in your life." She looked deep in the floor to hide the exact statements.

"Does it by any chance mean that you got rejected?? But wait!! was it this you wanted to tell?? But who could it be to do that to you?? Is it... HIM??" He was shocked for sure. He never thought there could pass such conversation between randhir and sanyukta. For Aarush, Randhir was the last guy on earth a girl could fall for. Least civility, rude behavior, ghostly appearance, less clothes to change with least frequency, a very less to talk, no human likes and dislikes to add to it there was something sanyukta and randhir had been hiding from him. He hardly knew randhir but what could make sanyukta think of him that way.

"Yes it's him!! but it doesn't matter now. What matter more is that between all this bulshit there had been you, who got ignored and never cared for? Aarush!! by any chance if you could allow me I want to change things for the good. I want to take a chance. May be I cannot be loving you or looking at you that way now and ever but I feel I should at least try to fall for you." Holding his one hand in one of hers she thought of getting free of a guilt she had realized suddenly after being rejected by her Love.
