Priyanka Chopra talks about her upcoming films

Films, music album, brand commitments and now an international series "Priyanka Chopra is doing all that and more. She quips, "I am so tired these days that I don't even get time to sleep. I am working all the time. But it's good, right? Problem toh tab hoti agar kaam nahi hota." She might be attempting different avenues of entertainment today, but her focus on her Bollywood films is still the same.

With Dil Dhadakne Do now behind her, PeeCee spoke to us at length about her upcoming films " the ones she's already signed and the ones she's in the news for.

Bajirao Mastani
Ranveer told us that PC was a little nerve-wracked in the initial days. When asked, PC explains, "You know there's a reason why for me it was a bit difficult. I think Ranveer misunderstood that. It's not because I could not get used to Sanjay sir's methods but Kashi's role is emotionally tumultuous. It was extremely draining. Every time I played her, or mouthed her lines, it broke my heart. I am a very sensitive person. I get moved by small things. Little things touch me, so of course, that's why playing Kashi was difficult. The costumes, the fact that it's a period drama and the time that it takes, is obviously exasperating, but strangely I have a great understanding with Sanjay sir because we've worked very closely on Mary Kom. Bajirao Mastani is possibly her toughest film till date. Not because it's a period film. All That you can learn, whether it's the Peshwai language or the accent. The costumes and jewellery too are difficult to adorn, especially in this heat. But each shot that Sanjay sir takes is like poetry. Bajirao Mastani is like poetry in motion. Kashi's character is traumatising and she's so traumatised that I have automatically become traumatised. It has tested me in ways I may have never even have thought about doing." But is the film complete? "No, a lot of work is still left. Since I started first; with me, a lot of work is done. Deepika joined a while back. But we still have a lot of overlaps," she added.

Gangaajal 2
Working with Prakash Jha was always a dream for PC. And with Gangaajal 2, she is all set to battle the ills that plague the society. "Gangaajal 2 is extremely special and I am very excited about that film. I think it's a story not too many people would want to talk about. It's very relevant to what's been happening over the last decade. It talks about land mafia, farmer suicides, and the corruption in the system. It also talks about women in uniform who are not taken seriously at all because they are in such communities," she revealed. When does the shooting start? "My team is working out the dates and we start soon," she continues. "But if you ask me about the release date, I don't know!"

Mr Chaalu
The film has been in the news for its numerous delays. Priyanka accepts that she's doing the film, but says, "I can't talk about Mr Chaalu at the moment because I don't know what's happening with the film now. I think we are trying to work out the technicalities, the dates, etc., because there are a lot of people in the film. A lot of dynamics are involved."
