Are we headed for United States of Maharashtra after CM's son marries a Karnataka girl? CM's reply to our question whether it will end the long-standing dispute between the states is: O Great!

First, a brief glimpse into history. Between 324-298BC Chandragupta Maurya with the prodding of his mentor established India's first real dynasty by forging marital alliances with his enemies. The combined forces ensured peace for the Mauryan kingdom and Chandragupta a firm place in history as the greatest ruler of ancient India.
Now, 2,296 years later, in democratic India, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's eldest son Amit will wed Karnataka girl Aditi Ghorpade. We sent a text message to the CM last evening in jest: Ata Maharashtra Karnataka seema prashna sutayla harkat nahin (Now, there shouldn't be any problem in resolving the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute.) The CM sportingly replied: O Great, but refused to comment on the Jan-Feb marriage.
Ghorpades happy with match
As an aside, Maharashtra and Karnataka have been in dispute over the inclusion of Belgaum in this state because of its Marathi-speaking population.
So then, who is the mystery woman who will become the CM's daughter-in-law? We discovered Aditi is in fact goes by the name, Aditi Pratap and appears on Zee TV's Saath Phere.
The actress made her acting debut in Koshish Ek Asha, and featured in shows like Maan, Dil Se Dosti, Love Marriage, Shhh… Koi Hai, Hatim and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. She did her schooling in Bangalore and is a commerce grad from New Delhi.
According to Aditi's cousin, the two met in Mumbai during a shoot for an advertisement and fell in love. "We are very happy that she is getting the man she wanted to marry. It is a love marriage, which was formalised later with the mutual consent of the families," said Aditi's first cousin.
"Ever since she was a child, she has listened to her parents and has never gone against their wishes. Even in this case, the marriage was announced only after they convinced both the families," a source close to the family said.
The Ghorpades
Aditi's father is a known name in Bangalore. Pratap Rao Ghorpade, also known as PR Ghorpade, is a metallurgical engineer from IIT Kharagpur and works in a Japanese company in Bangalore.
