Part 8
Veera slides down the trunk of the tree and watches with crying eyes as her saviour starts beating the other guys but she is unable to see his face due to the darkness. All she can think of is.. Baldev. But at the same time she knows it's not him because she can't feel it.. She can't feel his presence..
Veera is so lost in her thoughts that she doesn't see that all the goons have been beaten badly and lying on the floor and a hand is extended towards her to help her up. She takes the hand and stands up.
Person: Aap theek to hain?
Veera just nods in response.. it's not him.. and why would it be? Why would he come save her? Forget why.. he doesn't even know WHERE she is!!
P: Mera naam Amit hai, ghabraeye mat, main, main kuch nahi karunga..
[NOTE: I'm thinking of Khushwant Walia playing the role of Amit :) ]
A: Aap ayiye mere saath, mujhe batain aapka ghar kidhar hai to me aapko chod deta hoon.
Veera starts inching backwards.. she doesn't know whether she should trust him or not..
A: Dekhiye abhi itni raat ko aapka akele ghoomna theek nai hai me aapko chod deta hoon
Veera keeps on moving backwards.
A: Aap meri baat samjhiye agar mene aapko nuksaan puhonchana hota to mai aapko bachata kyon..
Veera realizes he's right but still she isn't entirely sure.
V: Nahi aap.. thankyou mujhe bachane ke liye lekin.. lekin main khud chali jaongi
With that she turned around to walk away
A: Dekhiye aap shayad yahan nai (new) ayi hain, raat ke time ye rasta akeli ladkiyon ke liye theek nahi hota.. Aap meri gaadi me nahi aana chahti to koi baat nahi but let me walk you home... if you don't mind
Veera understands he actually wants good for her but still she doesn't want to go with him in his car so she just turns back to smile at him and nodding faintly to let him know it's okay for him to walk with her. Amit smiles and catches up to her.
They walk in silence for a bit but Amit breaks the silence.
A: Toh.. aap kya yaha nai ayi hain?
Veera nods in response.
A: Aap paas me hi rehti hain?
Veera nods again.
A: Aap kya hamesha itna chup chup rehti hain?
Veera shakes her head in no.
Amit knows why she's quiet.. She's shaken up by what just happened.. He doesn't say anything after that thinking maybe not talking about it would somehow make her feel better.

Baldev turns for the millionth time in his bed. A strange feeling of restlessness had been bothering him since he lay down. His heart seems to be squeezing in pain but he can't quite understand the reason for it.
*Neend kyun nai aa rai menu..! Aur ye inni bechaini kyun ho rai hai?? Is tarha menu tab hi hua tha jab Veera.. Veera ka accident hua tha..*
He gets worried all of a sudden
*Kahin Veera.. kisi museebat me to nahi..?*
But then his old anger takes over
*ho bhi to Menu ki farq parta hai.. Theek hi ho gi jahan bhi ho gi*
And then he tries to force himself to sleep and eventually falls asleep.

AmiRa reach Amrit's compound but Amit doesn't leave.
Veera notices that so says with a faint smile
V: Me yahan se chali jaongi.. Thankyou
A: If u don't mind.. Aap andar chali jayein and then I'll leave.. I just wanna make sure ke aap totally safe hain
He smiles.
Veera again nods and moves on but Amit doesn't follow, he just watches.
Veera rings the bell once and instantly the door swings open and Amrit hugs her tightly..
A: Veera where were you I've been so worried!!!
Veera says dryly..
V: Amrit me theek hoon
And frees herself of the hug and is about to go inside when Amrit holds her hand to stop her.
A: No tum theek nahi ho plz mujhe batao what happened..
This time Veera hugs Amrit and cries while telling her what happened at the same time. She turns around and points to Amit who was still standing there and Amit smiles back and turns to leave but Amrit calls after him..
Amr: Hey dude! Amit! Listen! Plz idhar aao!!
Amit turns back and with a small nod walks over to Amrit and Veera.
Amr: Thankyou so much meri friend ko bachane ke liye
Ami: are aapko thanks bolne ki zaroorat nahi hai.. Aapki friend ne pehli hi bol dia hai
Veera walks inside quietly still in shock of what had happened.. Or rather.. What could've happened..
Amr: Amit plz come inside..
Ami: no I should really go
Amr: no plz aap ayiye.. At least paani to pee len
Ami: ok if you insist
He goes and sits on the sofa. Veera sits for a bit but doesn't say much except introduces herself and saying thanks once again. She excuses herself from the group by saying she's sleepy and leaves to her room.
Once locking her door and making sure no one can come in, Veera takes out her mangalsutra from her cupboard and wears it in front of the mirror. She touches it with her hands and closes her eyes as if it still has the feels of Baldev's touches. After 5 minutes or so she reluctantly takes it off and puts it back in her cupboard and sleeps.

The Next Day.
Baldev and family are eating breakfast..
BigB: Baldev tune apne karobaar ko phirse shuru karne ke bare me kuch socha hai?
B: nai Papaji.. Matlab.. Jiska liye ye sab kia wo to ab hai nai..
BigB: Haan par tu ab ki karega? Koi naukari shaukari kare ga ya koi aur karobaar karna chahta hai?
B: Papaji Beeji, agar aapnu koi etraaz na ho to me Chanchali Didi ke paas Delhi chala jaon? Waise bhi court ke saare papers jama ho gaye hai aur ab me iss pind se bahar bhi ja sakta hoon.. Wahan koi naukari dhoond loonga..
Ban: na Chanchali de kol jane di ki lod-
Balwant states at her which shuts her up.
BigB: Haan puttar koi gal nai tu jaa.. Par ek gal yaad rakhin, tu kisi bhi waqt wapas aa ke ae karobaar phirse shuru kar sakna e agar tu chahe te..
Baldev nods with an acknowledging smile and gets up to go to his room since he'd finished eating. He informs Chanchali that he's coming to Delhi the next day and asks whether he can stay at her place to which she happily agrees to.

The Next Day.
Baldev bids his parents and best pals Jaggi and Billa goodbye and leaves off to Delhi.
He arrives in Delhi and is looking for Chanchali's house by the address she gave him but he's unable to locate the house. He decides to ask someone for directions..
B: Satriakaal Ji.. Menu iss pate pe jaana hai to kya aap menu plj (plz) bata sakte hai ke ye kis taraf hai
Person: Oh yes no problem.. Ye to paas me hi hai.. Aayen me aapko waha tak chod aon
B: O ae te boht wadiya ho ga ji shukriya
They start walking towards Chanchali house..
P: by the way mera naam Amit hai
B: mai Baldev Singh.. Aaj hi aya hoon me.. Koi naukari wagera dekhn----
And Baldev starts telling Amit why he came to Delhi, who's he staying with etc.
The world is very small indeed.. The Amit who helps Baldev is the same Amit who helped Veera a night ago
By the time they reach Chanchali's house Amit and Baldev have become good friends. Baldev thanks Amit for helping him and they exchange numbers and decide to keep in touch.
