It's final: Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra to reunite for the remake of Ram Lakhan!
Yes...the speculation game is finally over!
One morning in August 2014, we were surprised when we saw a tweet from the Twitter handle of Karan Johar's production house that read, "Here's the big announcement! Rohit Shetty & Karan Johar, in association with Mukta Arts, presents Ram Lakhan in 2016."
If's almost a year that the remake has been announced but there hasn't been any development on the same. A source close to the production house who is making this film said, "Karan Johar's favourites, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan have been finalised for the Ram Lakhan remake. An official announcement will be made soon." The source further added, "In this remake, Sid will reprise Jackie Shroff's role as Ram, while Varun will play Lakhan played by Anil Kapoor."
Ever since Rohit and KJo's collaboration has been announced, there was a buzz that the Student Of The Year actors may collaborate for this 1989 classic which was then made by Subhash Ghai. Thanks to their popular bromance, Gunday actors Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were also reportedly consideredfor Rohit and Karan's film. But since the two actors are busy with their upcoming films, considering this film is to go on floors soon, Varun and Sid were finalised for the Ram Lakhan remake. The film is all set to release in 2016.
In the last few months various names like Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Fawad Khan, Ranbir Kapoor were also doing the rounds for the much talked about remake.
