Why doesnt Hrithik chose good directors?

Hrithik is known for his acting apart from looks, dancing skills, action. But of late he has been approached for smaller projects with good directors like Vishal Bharadwaj's Rangoon and he never does them. Instead he goes for similar kind of big budget action films with directors like Siddharth Anand and Victor Acharya who gave films like Anjana Anjani, Tashan and Dhoom3. Why?

He chooses srcripts he likes. SubHash Ghai gave him flop in Yaadein, Sanjay Gadhvi gave him BB in D2. One gotta take chances in this business.

Who know's it's a real shame. I think he enjoys those big budget action films, larger than life roles. I want to see him a smaller film soon though

Sometimes, cloths dont make person look good, the person makes cloths look good.

I want to hit him in head for not taking up Rangoon esp if it was Ricks character, which I am sure it was :(

With big budget he think he can enter in top 3 and his ratio will increase.

Cos everyone is after box offc these days, HR is no different, he needs to balance it out but then he does so few films.

Actors choose movies which interest them and provides creative satisfaction. They sometimes choose genres they haven't done. They are not motivated by boxoffice report like members of IF😆. May be he likes action genre, larger than life roles.

Hrithik is a superstar. Even his mediocre movie does huge business. also he has already won numerous awards, he has blockbusters, critic awards... there is nothing much left to prove.
his next is with ashutosh gwarikar, isn't he a good director? he was worked with best of directors from anurag to slb, zoya to subash ghai... JUST BECAUSE SMALL MOVIES ARE DOING WELL IN 2015 DOESN'T MEAN THE DIRECTORS ARE GREAT. You have to have a illustrious directorial career history to be called good directors.

coming to ur assumption he was approached for Rangoon, i believe it's not the case. Shahid n saif could be bhardwaj's first choice for the movie.. because it's a 2 hero movie.. and hrithik's popularity will overshadow the other 2 and i am sure the script demands that one doesn't overshadow another actor

PS. Mohenjodharo will be a jewel in his crown of performances, possible filmfare win.

Brain surgery, delays, divorce, promotion for K3, relapse, editing on the sets, shooting till last day of release, patch up works, clash..Fox star.. all that spell for disaster BIG budget movie.. but HE pulled it off.

He has worked with some of the finest directors and some newbies too. Ashutosh was also a flop director untill Aamir showed faith in him for Lagaan- a very risky movie.

I agree! I don't know why people put bangbang down. I really enjoyed that movie. Yes script was weak but it's an action movie and most of them don't revolve around a strong script. He is the best and pretty much only suitable action hero in BW. Ppl just like to pull this guy down!! Compare d3-bangbang-bodyguard/kick and tell me which had the best action?

Sallu, also lacking in height plus his action scnes are funny where he jumps and doesn't land on ground for the next 10 minutes 😆

Terrible marketing by Foxstar and the movie being delayed cause of personal and health crisis, and budget also went way over cause of these delays, yet he still managed to make it profitable and crossed 180 crore! That is a feat itself. HR is a true superstar who managed to stay in top slots even without nautanki, backbiting and over active PR
