Post 26/11 Revenge Saga Has A Songless Saif Ali Khan

Posted in Movies with tags Kabir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Phantom, Saif, Saif Ali Khanon June 24, 2015 by saifalikhanonline

Kabir Khan's post-Bajrangi Bhaijaan counter-terrorism drama Phantom which releases on 28 August has Saif Ali Khan playing an army officer out to seek revenge on the terrorists who masterminded the 26/11 attack on Mumbai.

The film is based on author S Hussain Zaidi's novel Mumbai Avengers.

In plot, mood and intent Phantom is completely antithetical to Bajrani Bhaijaan.

Says a source close to Kabir Khan, "While in Bajrangi Bhaijaan Kabir champions the cause of cross-border friendship by showing an Indian Hanuman Bhakt helping a lost Pakistani girl find her way back home, Phantom will see Saif track down and kill Pakistani ISI agents who masterminded the Mumbai attacks."

According to sources, "While Bajrangi and Salman would endear themselves to Pakistan, Phantom and Saif are hardly going to make our neighbouring country happy."

While refraining from commenting on the content of either film Kabir Khan says, "All I'll say is Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Phantom are two completely different films. While Bajrangi Bhaijaan is a full-on masala film with lots of music and singing Phantom has no lip-sync songs. It's intended as a far more serious exploration of a political issue."

No way Phantom will release in Pakistan... ISI ke agents ko maarna?? Is it? Aur kuch nahi mila Kabir ko? Real life incident ko usne Reel life filmy bana diya.

This might impact BB's chances in Pakistan.

Without a doubt. There's even a small chance BB might be banned. We get really sensitive for some reason when Bollywood makes any films on Pakistan, good or bad 😆

They should have talked about this film after BB's release only.

What is Kabir thinking. It's not a good idea to make films like these. Even slightly antagonizing, like Kurbaan, offended people.
It's just a better idea to refrain from antagonizing another country.

His Kabul Express / New York was on same lines... he tried to contain it in ETT, but it also went on to offend... hope he doesn't messes with Bajrangi.

What Kabir Khan is doing is nothing compared to what the victims of these attacks faced.
Also his film is for Indian audiences and not the Pakistani one.

Phantom dared to make a movie on 26/11 a decade before Dharundar touched this topic. Much like dharundar..it had a tagline which said a story...
