Ranveer moves out of his family home

The actor buys an apartment in Goregaon and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is responsible for the move.

Ranveer Singh has moved out of his family home in Bandra and bought an apartment in Goregaon so he can be close to Film City where Sanjay Leela Bhansali is shooting his period love story, Bajirao Mastani.

The actor has been filming almost 12 hours a day. He also has to pack in four hours of physiotherapy to strengthen his shoulder. Ranveer injured his shoulder when he fell from a horse when shooting in Jaipur. He continued to report for work despite intense pain but even with regular physiotherapy, he could not avoid surgery and was operated upon on April 4. He resumed shooting by the month end but was strictly advised to avoid action sequences.

"But he will have to start shooting them now, wearing cumbersome costumes, since Bajirao was a noted general and they are integral to the plot," informs a source close to the actor.

Bajirao served as Peshwa (Prime Minister) to Chhatrapati Shahu Raje Bhonsle. An outstanding cavalry leader, he fought over 41 major battles and is reputed to have never lost a battle. That's the reason Ranveer, who is giving everything he has to this role, is ensuring that he never misses a single physiotherapy session.

"The therapist comes home but with the onset of the monsoons and daily traffic jams, he realised that commuting to and fro work would not only be an ordeal but time-consuming too. That is why he has bought this new apartment," adds the source.

Ranveer who made an impression as the yuppy Kabir in Zoya Akhtar's Dil Dhadakne Do recently, has now shifted focus to a completely different character who lived in another era.

"This move will help him stay in character. He has shaved off his hair for the role and consciously stayed in semi-isolation, away from cell phones, before the film went on the floors. Now he needs all the spare time that he can manage to heal and concentrate on the part. It's a practical decision," asserts the source.

When contacted, Ranveer confirmed the news saying, "Yes, I have bought a place which is just minutes away from the Bajirao Mastani set so that I can maximise productivity."
