usually actors in period films have a certain look to carry it off well. Since most period films are based on royalty they need to look regal.
I don't know the right words but their voice, carrying the clothes.
They probably need to be more in tune with theatre actors where they are believable in coming from that period.
The ladies need to have some classical dancing.
If there is battle scenes the guy needs to be fit.
Not suited for all actors unless they train months prior.
