Reality show Fame Gurukul winner Qazi Tauqeer claims to have lost his entire singing career because of an unknown filmmaker.
Qazi, who resembles Hrithik Roshan, says, "I was approached by this filmmaker who told me he was interested in making a film called 30 minutes which is based on aliens much like Koi Mil Gaya, with me as the lead. He said that the film should be completed and released before Krrish hit the theatres."

The film required Qazi to get a new look, and with the help of the stylist James, who had done Hrithik's look in Krrish, Qazi's signature curls were traded in for a straighter and sleeker look. Says Qazi, "James would come on the sets of the film and do my hair, making it straight so that I would resemble Hrithk."
The maker however wanted Qazi to be out of the limelight until the movie released so that his new look could be kept secret. Says Qazi, "I refused so many shows that would have given me an income of at least 80 lakhs because of the film. I focused all my efforts on the movie, even going to the extent of setting up a gym at home."
Unfortunately, it all amounted to nothing as the film was never shot. Qazi adds, "All my efforts went to waste, the film wasn't shot. Every time on the day of the shoot he would give me some reasons for delay. At the end we were able to shoot just one song and a few scenes."
Sony BMG was initially reluctant to let Qazi take on this film but the persistent filmmaker went all the way to Delhi to convince Qazi's father to make Qazi do the movie. Sony later agreed to let Qazi do this movie after signing a contract with the director. Says Qazi, "Sony has sent a notice to the maker to pay for the losses I faced by turning down shows as well as the losses incurred by the company during my contract period."
Meanwhile, Qazi has been recently approached by Nazim Rizvi to star in his new film. "Right now I'm relaxed and looking forward to taking up new projects," says Qazi.
