Her performance in 'Haider' got many to comment that the film should have been titled Gazala' instead. So when Tabu replaced Rekha in the crucial role of Miss Havisham in Fitoor', she created ripples across Bollywood. However, the performing star prefers to underplay this aspect of her role.
In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, she said, "Nobody can replace anybody. We can just bring what we have to a project. Manish Malhotra and Rekhaji have together designed some exquisite costumes which I will now get to wear."
Although she became part of the project at the last minute, Tabu is satisfied with the manner in which Begum', her character, fits into the film. She said, "We had just a couple of days before I started shooting, there was no time to mess with the script," she laughs. "Besides, no matter who plays her, Begum will be eccentric and her relationship with the other characters won't change."
