He would have gone. But he didn't go because going with Ananya would mean the latter getting into Malvika's bad books! Kabir is established enough to handle his career and personal life. Refusing her invitation was his subtle way of detaching himself from this false sense of 'getting close to her'. He knew that the more he gave in to Ananya's wishes, the more she gets closer to him and his past! I don't think he is at all ready to confide anything in her yet! Yes, he loves their camaraderie, but that's it! For him, Ananya is that person who reminds him of the person he used to be! He can be his old self to an extent with her! But Ananya has taken his friendship for something else totally! Time will tell us just how much deeply she has fallen!Beautiful post btw! And once again, I really really miss our fierce discussions!!

U really think he did it for professional reasons? for her profession? uske ek dinner pe chale jane se kya hota...when he has khulle aam asked her to accompany him in the news...i am sure everyone has noticed the looks they give each other...I feel its more along the lines of his guilt...remember laxman told kabir he just likes to wallow in his guilt...i feel he has realized ananya makes him happy...and he doesnt want to give that happiness a chance...he wants to hold on to his misery and guilt...but then she comes along with her pouty face and sad eyes...and he cant help but do her bidding...and do anything to make her smile...and he ends up becoming happy himself in that process...
they are both pivotal for each others happiness even without realizing...
