As far as i know..we are rather upfront in saying the shittiest of crap to each other on our faces..so that doesn't qualify as back biting

But then we are all strangers and it doesn't matter. I actually like it..some one investing so much energy and time in you despite not even knowing your gender or name and you clearly can't care less so why bother..

The Prophet once gave counsel to Abu Dharr, saying: O Abu Dharr! Beware of backbiting, for backbiting is graver than adultery. Abu Dharr (r) said: Why is that so, O Messenger of Allah? He (s) replied: That is because when a man commits adultery and then repents to God, God accepts his repentance. However, backbiting is not forgiven until forgiven by its victim.

The Prophet (pbuh) defined backbiting when he said:

"Do you know what is meant by backbiting?" They said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "To say something about your brother which he dislikes." One asked, "Even if what I say is true about my brother?" He replied, "If such defects you say are true about him, then you have backbitten him, and if he doesn't have what you say, then you have committed slander against him." (Related by Muslim, Abu Dawood, and Tirmidhi)
