Part 28
Khurana Mansion
"Welcome Mrs. Patel!! Please come inside.. " invited Simran.
"Wow Mrs. Khurana, the arrangements are top notch!" said DD as she enters with her family and relatives.
They had come to the Khurana Mansion for the Sangeet Ceremony. DD was very impressed with their house and their taste. She was glad that her daughter would live happily in such an environment.
"Where is our daughter Mrs. Patel?" asked Raj while searching for her.
"She was coming with us only..." said DD and turns to look, but Roshni was seen nowhere. DD shakes her head,
"Well, do I need to ask where Siddharth is then?" she commented sarcastically.
Raj chuckles and says inaudibly, "Waah mere sher!"
Simran feels embarrassed and says, "Kids!!"
Somewhere in the corner of the house
"Siddharth what are you doing? So many guests have come and agar koi aise dekh lia toh what will they think??" she rambled.
"Shh.. I wanted to see my bride before anyone else could see her." he said mesmerized with her look.
"You... You look hawt!" he said in a low voice and checked her out with intense desire making her cheeks go crimson.
She was wearing pink and silver saree, with a low back cut blouse flaunting her bare back. With long traditional earrings and her hair tied up to a bun she was looking breath taking.
"You look handsome.." she said encircling her hands around his neck. He was wearing a grey and black sherwani, which clinged perfectly on his body.
"I try not to... but I can't help it.." he chuckled softly.
She suddenly removes her hands and scratches her eye.
"What happened?" he asked with concern stopping her from rubbing her eyes.
"Something fell in my eyes" she said like a kid.
He takes out his handkerchief and gently wipes off the dirt; he blows on her eyes softly while cupping her chin. She gazes at him innocently as he removes the dirt, and suddenly she gets distracted with a red mark on his handkerchief. She snatches the cloth from his hand and looks at it with eyes wide open.
"What is this?" she asked him with a fierce look, placing the handkerchief in front of his face. He looks at it and then at her shaking his head to a strict no.
"Roshni, I.. I have no freaking clue.. it's.. it's not mine.." he said nervously.
"You took it out from your pocket na? Then how come it is not yours?" she asked him angrily.
"Yaar.. I donno.. lag gaya hoga kisi paint-waint se" he said unsure of her reaction.
"Do you think I am a fool??"
"Yes..." he said inaudibly.
"What?"
"I mean NO! offcourse not baby... but c'mon forget it.. aaj hamara sangeet hai.. let's not talk about something else.." he cups her face.
"Leave me.. 3 din kya bachelor life jeene mil gayi..tumne toh acha khasa fayda utha lia!!" she removes his hands, throws the handkerchief on his face and leaves angrily.
"Aaj ke din bhi siyape!" he said looking up with a frustrated face. He scans the handkerchief one more time and says,
"This doesn't look like mine"
"Because it is mine!" said Raj.
"What? And this lipstick...?" he asked him unbelievingly.
Raj winks at him making Sid throw the handkerchief on him.
"Daaad!! Kabhi toh sharam kia karo yaar!! Aapke romance ne mere romance pe full stop maar dia!!" he leaves to find Roshni.
Garden
It was crowded. So many guests had come for their Sangeet ceremony. Siddharth was looking for Roshni, but it wasn't easy as everyone wanted to congratulate him. Finally he finds her near the fountain with Simran and Kritika who were introducing her to their guests.
"What a lovely, neckpiece Roshni.." said Mrs. Lakhotia as Siddharth came near them.
"Sid, your bride is very beautiful! Tumhari choice ka jawaab nahi!!" she commented patting his shoulders.
"Wow. Iska bhi credit yeh lega abh?" Roshni murmured to herself glaring at him.
"Yes, aunty ji.. I am a very lucky guy" he said passing a smile to Roshni.
She ignores him and starts talking with Kritika. He stands close to her and calls out,
"Roshni, listen to me once.. it was not mine.."
"I don't want to hear!" she snapped.
"But-"
"Please, jao na.. apni red lipstick wali ke paas!" she retorted.
He pleaded with his eyes that he had nothing to do with it and he was innocent. Simran could sense the tension between them and before they could start fighting like kids in front of guests she asks them to take their place as the function was about to start.
They take their seats as the lights goes off, the Khurana's had called a famous dance troupe for the function. It was one of Roshni's favourite, she clapped her hands unenthusiastically as they perform. Siddharth was sad seeing her unhappy like this. After their stunning performance, Pratima and Bablu Chachu dance on a romantic number.
They come up to Roshni and Siddharth and drag them to the centre of the stage to dance. Just to make everyone happy they sway a bit and clap their hands, Roshni maintained a distance with him still glowering at him as he tried to come closer. When they sit down Siddharth whispers,
"It was not mine! It was Dad's!! Go and ask him if you want!"
"You are unbelievable!! Papa ko blame kar rahe ho! This was so unexpected of you!" she whispered back.
"Arre!! I am telling the truth! Abh main kya karu mere parents aise harkate karte rehte hai toh! Learn something from them!!" he retorted.
"What!"
"Yes! See how romantic they are, and look at you..!!" he replied.
She looks at them dancing on the stage with so much of love and cuteness between them. She turns her face to the other side ignoring his stares.
"Are you still giving me the cold shoulder?" he asked after half an hour. She doesn't respond and starts talking with Simran, he leaves angrily.
A few drops of the drink that Simran was holding fall on her saree, she asks Raj to give him his handkerchief. At that moment, Roshni realizes that Siddharth was speaking the truth and that was indeed Papa's so she starts looking around for him. DD comes near her and asks,
"What happened? Why are you so stressed?"
"Mom..woh Siddharth and me.." she said as tears welled up in her eyes.
"Did you guys fight again?" she asked incredulously.
"I.." before Roshni could complete her sentence, the lights goes off again and a spot light falls on her. Another spot light falls on Siddharth who was standing on the stage smiling at her.

He starts singing in his low sultry voice and sways from right to left. He walks down towards the fountain and indicates he will jump and drown, making everyone laugh. Roshni keeps looking at him with a mischievous grin on her face and holds back her tears.

He raises his eyebrows and walks towards her slowly ignoring the huge crowd. He bends down on one knee in front of her and raises his hand, she gives her hand to him and he pulls her closer to him.

He twirls her around and brings her up on the stage. He pulls her closer and they move their bodies in sync as she places her hands on his shoulder. He holds her by her waist and cups her chin upward.

He rubs his nose against hers and instantly before she could realize lifts her off her feet in his arms. He twirls around with her and she encircles her hand around his shoulders. As the song nears its end everyone starts applauding happily.
She holds her ears innocently and asks for forgiveness. He takes her hands away from her ears and kisses them, as they come down the stairs he says,
"How about one kiss, if you really are sorry?" he winks.
"Here? In front of everyone?" she asked looking around.
"The lights will go off in 5..4..3..2..1" he said mischievously.
She couldn't believe that he would go to such an extent just to get a kiss from her. She gives a peck on his cheeks and runs near the fountain which was placed beside the stage. He follows her, and a new dance performance starts on the stage.
"That is cheating!" he said playfully.
"You didn't say where!" she retorted with a grin.
Siddharth splashes water naughtily and runs on the stage as it was his song again,

He points out to her and starts dancing with full energy. Listening to his words Roshni pouts and comes near the stage pretending to look fiercely.

As she starts singing he jumps off the stage to be beside her. He looks at her with his intimidating stare making her look down at her feet.

He pulls her chin up, making her look at him and winks.

Dil ki baatien aage badh gayi
She smacks hard on his chest and he holds her hands before she could hit him more. She looks at him and their eyes meet.

He raises his eyebrows naughtily and runs his fingers up her arms, making her come back to reality from her fantasy world and hit him again. He laughs aloud and runs near his family so that she would stop hitting him.

He sticks a tongue at her and stands beside DD.

He indicates to DD and pulls her cheeks, making DD glare at him. He laughs and holds his ears asking for forgiveness. He then takes Roshni's hands and twirls her around and dips her.

He leans towards her slowly and sings softly ending the song. He admires her with his piercing stare that made her heart flutter. She mouths to him,
"I love you Siddharth."
