I have been following three serials quite seriously so far.
Two of them have gone off air.

I am talking about KTLK (Kuchh to log kahenge) HS (Humsafars) and now Reporters.
Today's episode set me thinking about similarities in these three (what was same and what was not)
Hope mods allow this post.

Similarities:

1. All male protagonists (aka hero) had a painful past. If Dr Ashutosh was an orphan abandoned by his father, his house etc etc etc, then Sahir had such a painful past that he was willing to mutilate himself. Kabir Sharma is no different. Only thing, we havnt known his past totally. None of them believe in the concept of love-relationship anymore.

2. All female protagonists (aka heroine) were pretty and brilliant in their jobs. If Dr Nidhi was a 14 rank holder then Aarzoo was a designbaaz and Ananya has a spark for reporting. All of them signify innocence and freshness etc etc etc..

3. The male and female protagonists met through a takkar. Or the takkar was quite significant in their story. It could be a car collision in KTLK or a cellphone-cranial collision in HS or a body-body takkar in reporters.

4. The female protagonists were dismissed off initially as incompetent. Dr Nidhi was an indisciplined scatterbrain, Aarzoo was a village bumpkin who wore tentlike clothes and Ananya is stupid stuttering reporter.

5. The first impression from both sides was never a good one. Or better, love was never at first sight. On the other hand, they fought like kutta billi. This doesnt need to be elaborated.

6. The male protagonist was always khadoos to the female counterpart. Dr Nidhi openly called Ashutosh Khadoos during Priyanka's wedding, Sahir was bitterness personified (burnt toast -OCD etc etc name it and you have it) Ananya calls Kabir Sharma Sadu (Maybe Hari Sadu from Naukri.com?)

7. All male protagonists have a female from "N" no of years. Dr Ashtuosh had Mallika (12 yrs friendship), Sahir had Zeenat (Comatose wife of 7 yrs) and Kabir has Tarini (friend since how many yrs? we dont know) Many of these friends had fallen in love with the hero or even married to him, but the hero didnt reciprocate the feelings (or simply there were no such feelings left)

8. Both male and female protagonists changed their opinions of each other after a major outing/episode. In KTLK it was Priyanka's wedding, in HS it was the jungle trip and here it is probably going to be interview caper (upcoming track)

9. The female protagonist has a male friend (who always is in one sided love with her, but she is unaware or doesnt reciprocate the feelings). Dr Nidhi had Rohan, Aarzoo had Zaki and Ananya has Ronnie.

10 There is resignation involved, which leads to further developments. Ashutosh sacked Nidhi, Sahir accepted the resignation of Aarzoo and Kabir also did the same.

Dissimilarities:

1. Both KTLK and Reporters Kids were buddies to the male protagonist. This was not there in HS.
2. HS was more of an emotional suspense drama than a love story outright, whereas KTLK started off as a professional medical show which then turned the love story way. We are yet to see the love story-confession etc etc in Reporters: so far it is a professional setup with office politics.
4. In HS and Reporters, the heroine also has a past agenda. This was not there in KTLK.

I can think only this much. Please feel free to contribute.

PS (in a lighter vein): All these are points from "how to write a story of a serial". Remember all these points and anyone can write a story. A few deviations can be allowed, although.

Ha ha ha !!!! This is not only the case with KTLK, Reporters or Humsafars. It is the same with almost ALL shows. The only exception that I can remember now is, Pavitra Rishta.
But in Reporters, I have found the clash of ideologies very realistic so far.

Good observation Sagi,, and very precise as well... Keep it up.. 👏👏

I agree with all the points you have mentioned..
You said..

4. In HS and Reporters, the heroine also has a past agenda. This was not there in KTLK.

But In Ktlk also .. Nidhi's past is attached with her mother and the house of baba was given to her for past 10 yrs or so.. So, this is also a similarity 😳😃

Nice observing post 👏
