No one asks Javed saab's opinion in real life but here since he is a judge he will do his job. Shabana is a better judge and she learnt classical music for her movie raaga.
I still like Javed saab and consider him just an over-emotional human who can err.
Ok, to your first question, somone you know on this forum who writes excellent peotry is not as popular as Javed Saab, may be in real life but we don't know so thats the first difference. As I said a person doesn't need to have a high IQ or exceptional talent to be successful, reverse is also true that high IQ or exceptional talent doesn't gurantee you a success. That should be a good enough explianation for your first question.
As far as judging is person, any person with a good taste of music can be a judge no doubt but how do you judge the taste of that person. I think the judging panel should have a mix of singers and music directors as both profession complements each other and one can not exist without other, they together produce good music. Lyricist or person of any other profession would just represent common man if be on the panel.
