He couldn't say anything because it was a surprise for Karishma and the rest. Very few people in even production knew. Star Plus is just dramatizing everything.

As far as i know , none of the contestants jumped upon them. This issue was raised by the production team and the host. If he had to plan a surprise then he should have give his phone to the prod team and not hide it "under the sofa" lol . And by knowing karishma from her previous reality show if the hadn't cheated she would not have sat there quietly and smiling shamelessly.
