Is sensitivity really lacking so much in today's real world?
I really can't understand the way the Kapoor household members behaved when the kids returned with Ayann, so much lack of sensitivity? Forget about whose kids they are, even from a normal humanitarian angle, it was just plain atrocious. No, I am not one of those people who think kids should only be pampered and never be scolded or reprimanded, but there is a time for reprimanding and there is a time for pampering. You can't pamper the kid when he or she pulls the neighbour kid's hair and you shouldn't scold him or her when he runs off in the middle of the road leaving your hand and narrowly escapes getting hit. Yes, the second action does deserve scolding, but only after some initial pampering & consoling to make the kid overcome the ordeal.
That's exactly happened here with Aarav. There is no doubt Aarav was wrong to go out on his own, as rightly pointed out by one of the abductors, he did a mistake, and paid for it by getting abducted. The people who suffered (Disha, Mr. Kapoor) along with him, paid for their own part in making him run away. But when it comes to the apology stakes, I found only Aarav's apology (to Disha) genuine, Disha & Mr. Kapoor telling him that they won't scold him, Is such a promise realistic? Can they not scold him when he does a mistake? It has been happening for generations, when the youngsters do some mistake, elders has to scold them, otherwise how the young ones would realise what they did was wrong? Moreover did Aarav run away because they scolded him? Certainly not, he ran away because they badmouthed and insulted his father, can either of them honestly promise they will not badmouth (atleast in Aarav's presence) Ram? They can't and they won't, these promises and apologies are meaningless when they didn't even realise what they did wrong. And Disha's apology didn't come voluntarily , Ayaan has to gently guide to apologise.
Manika was at meanie best (or worst?). Can't imagine a woman rejoicing the possibility of the kids never returning.. For god's sake, they are her own sisters' kids. To give her due, she didn't know about Aarav's abduction when she questioned and scolded him, but even if she doesn't know the whole drama, she does know the boy is missing for hours and he is a small kid, can't she hold onto her anger until after the boy had some food and rest? No, we can't expect any humanitarian behaviour from the M & M duo, but doesn't the loving ' Nanu' know better? Can't he restrain his daughter? The only person who talked sensibly was Ayaan, when he said they can discuss it later, but he was easily brushed off by Manika. Coming to Disha.. Whether she like it or not they are liking under Mr, Kapoor's roof, and they do owe explanation to the members of the family. Yes, she is right in wanting to protect her brother, but the arrogance in which she said 'you can't talk to my brother in that loud voice'.. Can't she tell it that ' my brother had gone though a tough ordeal today, let me make him relax and then I will explain in detail'. Yeah, to talk in such manner, she needs humility, which she doesn't know the meaning of..
Surprised that Mr Kapoor didn't make a formal complaint to police about Ram making a coal from inside the cell. He got it correctly that Ram might have befriended some big criminal to get such facility. Hahha, Mr. Kapoor clams he can make even breathing difficult for Ram inside jail, as if Ram is having a ball out there.
The fight scene was entertaining ;).. In a very typical Bollywood fashion, hero made an entry at the nick of the time, shown his muscle power and saved the boy. The fight ended abruptly, may be some editing issue, they had shown the goons bringing the hockey sticks and suddenly they started running back. Would have been more realistic if they had run before getting the hockey sticks. Anyway, I am ready to take the Bollywood style fight anyday over a soap style prolonged kidnapping track. No complaints from me.
When the kids entered their room, I expected Disha to hug Aarav and have a good cry, but no, she was too consumed by anger and ego. The taking promise scene would have made more sense If it was done amidst a crying fit. Sometimes I wonder whether I am too harsh on her, but these days she seems to be ruled by anger, ego, stubbnreess and bitterness rather than any tender feelings. When Aarav wanted to move out of the house because everyone in this house hates his father, I was thinking Disha (for a change) would think sensiblly and arrange for an accommodation for them by contacting Dr. Bhattiliwala, or karan or one of her friend and then take a plunge to move out. Oh, no, our Disha is far too impulsive to do that. As always she decides to take off without making any plans.. Some people never learn from past mistakes. Wonder whether she would have tried to use a clothsrope again to sneakout of the house If only the room had a balcony facing the backside ;).
Ayaan managed to deny any first hand knowledge of Ram Ahuja, I expected him to tell that someone from his firm is representing Ram,. But I guess he felt off-balance when everyone questioned him. He is still committed to work for Mr. Kapoor to get custody of the kids. But I think he is slowly realising the true colours of everyone, the selfishness and animosity of M & M, and Mr, Kapoor's obsession with kids, it is becoming more obvious that he considers the kids as a possession which he wants to keep away from Ram's hands. There is no deep love there.
I wonder about the custody papers, Mr. Kapoor can't get custody unless Ram voluntarily signs the paper or he wins the custody in a court of law. The third possibility is Ram dying without mentioning any specific preference for his children's custody. If Ram gets convicted, Mr, Kapoor would have a better chance of winning the custody battle in court. But Mr. Kapoor talks as if making legal documents would somehow get him custody,. Let's see how they take it forward.
I thought the kidnap track would snap Ayaan out of his loyalty to his bade papa, and drag Ram out of the pit he digged himself in. Ram is not shown yesterday for us to know his mindset, and seems like Ayaan's change of loyalty would be a slow progress, no lightening strike there ;). Ayaan promised to take Aarav to meet his father, maybe the father- son bonding will be one more strike against Mr. Kapoor in Ayaan's eyes? Ayaan already had a lecture on professional ethics over personal loyalty from his senior, he had also seen Aarav's unquestionable trust and love for his father, then the meanie behaviour of M & M and the obsession of Mr. Kapoor. Hopefully Ayaan would continue to recall all these, and make up his mind to represent Ram.
Precap : wonder what right Disha has to blast Ayaan about his loyalty and true colours. M & M's kids taunting Aarav and Disha giving it back in her usual abrupt manner.
