I am not against any kind of dressing. People are obviously free to wear whatever they want but it should work both ways. Why Salwar suit is tagged as 'behenji' then ? The expressions the three girl gave during the uniform thing is irksome.

That's really amusing why they were born and brought up in western environment while still living in India and being brought up by Indian parents. How can people be so ignorant about their own culture ?

I don't think the girls are used as glamour product here. There are trying to tell us the difference between a metropolitan city and a small town in India. The problem is they are going OTT while doing it.

I'm sorry, I don't live in India so I was looking at it from a Western perspective, so you probably know better. But I think it is possible to be born and raised in India but still have a huge western influence in your life if youre from the upper class, maybe even more than your own culture, and I'm honestly just speaking from my own experience. Again, I don't live in India so you guys know better about that, I'm just talking about the possibility based on my own experiences.

About the behenji label, across many indian dramas, i've seen the common trend of girls who dress in unfashionable shalwar suits labelled as "behenji" so I assume this is a term people use often? it sounds like an insult, towards someone they think is not as fashionable, sophisticated as themselves. So, in that case I would have to argue that this is also a representation of the girls' characters. For them to refer to the "behenji" label sounds like it's a result of the environment they were raised in and from the people they used to interact with, but this is what i've taken away from it. It obviously may not be true.

The show also seems to be tackling this issue bc, like I said before, Jazz's W*F reaction to her uniform was met with supportive comments from her sisters and mom. They all supported the uniform and convinced Jazz that it wasn't as bad as she was making it out to be and it wasn't a big deal.

I hope these posts aren't offensive to anyone lol this is just my perspective and my interpretation of the drama

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with what you've said. I'm a Muslim too and I believe everyone has the right to express themselves how they want, whether it's in the clothes they wear/their fashion, or otherwise. I respect that you don't agree with this and you have a different opinion, but you also need to understand that these girls, the actors and characters, aren't doing anything wrong by wearing what they wear. You don't support these clothes, and exposing your body that's completely fine, but that doesn't mean that everyone, namely the show's stylists or actors, should not support it as well.

There's nothing wrong with wearing the shalwar kameez as a uniform and that's what the show showed! in the end Jazz wore it, and the girls supported this and told her why there's nothing wrong with it.

Fashion doesn't mean the producers of the show are using these girls as a "glamour product". They have showcased their talent many times through the scenes, the writing, etc. The fashion of this show helps build on and express the girls' characters. I, for one, and immensely thankful for a show where the female actors actually dress well!!!!! I can't be thankful enough to these stylists lol

Keep in mind, these girls have grown up in a western environment, and as someone who has done the same, there's nothing wrong with wearing south asian outfits during special occasions, definitely not! In fact it's fun and everyone loves it. But for people who are used to wearing western clothing on a daily basis, it's weird to have to wear anything else on a daily basis.

I dont want anyone to accept my pov it just expressed it...but no were islam supports wearing such short clothes...islam orders every women to cover up their body...i know that everyone can wear wat they want but islam never accepts u to expose anyparts of ur body...
