Such an amazing episode. So here I am with my thoughts! Couldn't wait to post!
Thank you to all, who requested me & some even PMed me to write daily. Its really heartwarming. I will try my best to pen down some thoughts each day, but I can't guarantee.
So the episode continues with Sher looking on suspiciously, with a bored expression as Shraddha speaks about how she met Virat. And he looks unhappy when she tells him that she found out from her father about Virat's transfer. Boy, he doesn't like her keeping tabs on Virat😛 And just when its getting bad, she makes it worse by telling Sher that Virat is a truthful, honest man who she has loads of respect for. Girl, he was just suspicious about you guys & you are praising the other guy😆 And Sher has it! Then begins the EPIC question of the day & as usual, Sher doesn't go straight to the point. He has the habit of intimidating first in a roundabout way with indirect taunts, then he hits the nail on the head. Its very interesting how he paints himself as the bad guy & Virat as the good guy. It answered my question from yesterday when Sher told Shraddha that he can read the expressions of the face he fell in love with. So it wasn't just a comment meant for the moment. He hasn't been oblivious to her pain. He knows what he is doing, but like he mentioned in the funeral - he doesn't know what his fault is. He knows he has done wrong, but he feels that he isn't wrong, because to him, whatever he has done so far has been out of love. His intentions have been noble but his actions have been wrong. And for Sher, that is enough for now.
And the best reply from Shraddha so far to Sher's svyamwar question. Shraddha tells Sher that if I said yes for you, you would think I am lying & if I said no for you, you would feel bad. And now that I have accepted you as my own (as my husband), I do not want to be proven as a liar in front of you & neither do I want to hurt you. This was definitely the second best moment of the episode for me. Her reply made her stand on her life very clear -
1. Even though she did not answer his question directly, she did indirectly. Virat stood nowhere in her reply - she worded her reply in terms of either saying yes to Sher or no to Sher. Not yes to Sher, or yes to Virat. So no matter what, she would pick Sher.
2. She has accepted Sher as her husband & she will not break this bond.
3. Sher's feelings matter. Even though he has done wrong with her, she does not hate him. She did not say it, but somewhere she acknowledges that Sher is not a bad person.
Sher's expressions following this revelation were just amazing. There was shock written all over (remember he said to her when he was drunk that even if she were to start feeling for him, he would think of it as mere pity) & I think to some extent, he understood that she has accepted him. As he looked away from her face, there was some amount of guilt even. It hit him for the first time that she cares for him too & that is also one of the reason she's stayed on. As I said time & time again, Sher is all about reciprocity. So now that Shraddha has accepted him from her heart, he told her very honestly that she is now his wife, no matter how the relation was formed, & that he doesn't like her talking to Virat. There was no assertion of right, or rude remarks/taunts here. He shared his feelings very frankly that he doesn't like it. He closes his eyes to sleep, but the confession by Shraddha is not able to let him sleep. So he looks at her only once she has laid down, so that he can avoid her gaze. Both of them are unable to sleep & they both know it that something has changed between them.
Shraddha wakes up in the morning, scared & tries to search for Sher frantically. Is she scared that he will do something wrong again? And she bumps into BD. Hilarious scene IMO. Even BD can't comprehend what is going in Shraddha's mind beyond the 'i-am-scared look'😆 This scene reminded me so much of Sher's attitude. She wants Shraddha to keep Sher in the house, but yet she doesn't want Shraddha to influence Sher. Sher wants Shraddha for himself & wants her to do as he says, but yet he wants her to accept him on her own terms willingly. Both mother/son need to figure out what they really want.😆
And the funeral scene - the best moment of the day for me. Sher's anger has settled down, & we see a calm, guilty Sher taking part in the rites. Just like a good husband, he woke up early (i don't think he slept though) to go for the rites. Shraddha's father tells Sher that he will have to pay for all the wrong he's done with Sher. And surprisingly, Sher remains calm. He gracefully thanks the master for teaching him that one who does wrong will also have to go through that. So has Sher realised that he is not the only victim in this entire scenario? But the very next moment, he tells the master that he doesn't know what wrong he did. And he walks away with a sad, guilty face that is looking down. I think my heart really went out to Sher for the first time. This guy has been mean to Shraddha but he didn't do it out of the intention of hurting her. It was impulsive & the anger of the moment. He doesn't know how to comprehend this marriage, & he is constantly torn between wife & mother. His feelings have been on the edge, without anyone to anchor it. For him, everything he's been doing is out of love & he has been so influenced by BD's upbringing & environment.. that he doesn't know how to love. How to deal with the honesty that Shraddha brings. So all he does is to avert his gaze & look away.
The last shot of the episode. BRILLIANT symbolism. We see Sher cleansing himself before entering the house, while BD & Shraddha look on. Clearly, he is not just cleansing the physical dirt on his body. The Sher that enters the house in the next episode, will be a new Sher Singh. And the precap seems to be a hint of that. Notice he did not scold Shraddha or suspect her, rather he warned Virat not to speak to Shraddha against her will.
