Lets not forget that right after YJHD success, Ranbir had besharam which was a flop. Tamasha will defo work because of their pair.

Race 2 was going to work regardless because of the buzz from Race... Cocktail was her only solo hit... everything before that was terrible... Ranbir on the other hand was giving success after success while also achieving critical acclaim. Not to forget, YJHD released after Barfi, which really made Ranbir the star he is today. He was the biggest star going into the film if you think about it. Also Cocktail could've just been a rare gem for DP's career in terms of acclaim/BO but YJHD really made her a household name. So maybe Ranbir did save DP's career 😛

She's right...it's no longer cool to be just a "flowerpot". There's definitely been a change in the kind of movies that are releasing and the type of roles that actresses are portraying

Though OSO,LAK,Houseful were hits Deepika gave each year before cocktail..it was the smaller films,with heroes with no BO power,that has made her the star actor she is today.

she learnt acting in those films..In the "flop" phase,she signed the biggest films..and in 2013 she delivered hits with commercial films

An actor need to grow with each film..doing stupid films opp less talented actors and with mediocre directors, stunts the growth.

Finding Fanny with top class actors helped her deliver in piku..with Piku she grows more confident.

Ofcourse DP should return the favour. Now she will be the superhero in Ranbir's career like how he was with YJHD. 👏
