The Bombay Velvet' director who has had a rather unusual innings in Bollywood is about to leave India and settle in Paris. Anurag Kashyap's news of moving out had been rife last year too. But this year he is surely moving out.

In reports published in India Today, Anurag's relocation was confirmed by the man himself. He has finalized a studio apartment and will be shifting this month itself. Anurag would still be retaining his interest in Phantom films with his other three partners. And as for the Anurag Kashyap Films Pvt Ltd (AKFPL), it will be managed by Guneet Monga.

Anurag was quoted, "I want to begin again. I want to go and make films where people have lesser boundaries. I want to push myself. Beyond a point, I can't push myself here."

His films belong to a different genre and CBFC's new rules and regulations aint going down too well with him. So he decided to move out.

if he still gonna make movies there then good decision 👍🏼
y waste ur talent where most of ur time and energy is being wasted on unnecessary things like convincing others, arranging funds and on central boards' goons

His explanation kind of make sense. His kind of films get a different and dare I say better appreciation in Europe than India. Not to mention the censor board in India has been probably making him more inhibited than he wanted to. But the timing of his announcement seems odd. It seems like he's running away due to BV failing.

I do feel bad for him though He said if BV doesn't get atleast 150 crores he will be disappointed..yikes it is not going to make anywhere near that.

I recently saw Ugly and became a fan of him all over again. He should have continued making those small budget noir movies, it gave him a dedicated fan following. When he made BV it was his way of saying I can make commercial movies, unfortunately his heart is not in that and his dedicated fans don't want to see that.

He is making his own path and he should continue to do that. Anurag is talented no doubts about it but he won't be bringing anything new to the European hence its imperative that he stays here.
