Parth was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He went in a boarding school in Panchgani and is pursuing his final year of graduation in Architecture from L S Raheja School of Architecture. Samthaan has also done an acting course from Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai.

Parth broke through as a model when he finished runner-up in Pantaloons Fresh Face Model Hunt 2012. He begin his acting career with an episode of Channel V India 's crime television series Gumrah: End of Innocence. Samthaan got his first big break as Prithvi Sanyal in Channel V India 's teen drama Best Friends Forever. Samthaan's role was well received though he made an early exit from the show in March 2013. Post Best Friends Forever?, Samthaan appeared in episodic series like Life OK's Savdhaan India, MTV Inida's crime series Webbed, UTV Bindaas 's Yeh Hain Aashiqui, and Zing's Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. Samthaan is currently essaying the role Manik Malhotra in MTV India's youth show Kaisi Yeh yaariaan The show has been declared a runaway hit and Samthaan's character has garnered appreciation. He also features in Marathi short film Pradosh credited as Parth Laghate.

Parth has starred in a Youtube short film titled The Last Bet. He has also featured in television advertisements for 'Kreeli Jewellery' and Close Up.
