Isn't it based on real life story of a king , queen and his mistress? So how could it have a lavani item number in it? SLB has lost it. 😆

Not only that, Priyanka and Deepika are not good dancers. They don't have any iconic dance songs. Deepika ruined Lovely with her awkward dancing and all of Priyanka's numbers are forgettable. They are not known for their dancing and they can't even dance that well tbh!

Maybe I would be more accepting of the Face-off had it consisted of good dancers like Karishma Vs Madhuri in DTPH or Ash Madhuri in Devdas. I know for a fact this face-off is not going to match up!

Guys they're training hard for it. If Deepika can learn garba I'm sure they both will do justice to this form too. Nowadays, everyone does intense dance workshops.

I do think it's a bit strange for them to have a dance-off, just like Paro and Chandramukhi did when one was a thukarain and the other a prostitute. So I'm sure SLB will do it in an innovative way--hopefully. Like everyone finds out in Devdas that Chandramukhi is a prostitute when Paro's son in law comes in and says so. So let's see.

Madhuri already stated how excited she is for it: read she means they cannot beat her iconic dancing in Devdas. 😆

This movie is Devdas on steroids, one is needed for every couple of generations. We shall see if poor mans Aish & PC will be able to pull it off.

In old times Lavani used to be performed by stage dancers and not by women from normal/good or royal families so I don't understand how a royal Kashibai is supposed to do this dance😆 Mastani was a dancer so it won't look odd if she dances(in the movie).

Mastani was royalty too. She is widely accepted by historians to have been the daughter of a Hindu Maharaja & his beloved Persian concubine & she was regarded to be one of the most beautiful women of the era, skilled in sword fighting & horse riding & war-fare.

Yes Lavani is the worst dance number for them to perform on b/c it was only women who were considered "street performers" and of questionable moral character were Lavani dancers so to show a prominent royal queen such as Bajirao's wife Kashi Bai & his other royal wife & beloved Mastani dance off doing Lavani is again one of SLB's crazy ideas. I hope they don't do that at one of their palaces b/c that's just absurd.

According to the third origin story, Mastani was a dancer in Chhatrasal's Court and after Bajirao Peshwa accepted the friendship during the meeting with Chhatrasal, Bajirao fell in love with Mastani and married her which was condemned by Brahmins and other Hindus as Bajirao was an upper caste Brahmin.^[4]

Won't be surprised if SLB shows this so that he can show many dance numbers😆
