For one thing did she hear all of what Kundan's parents told him or just the part where Akhera beat up Kundan?

She has seen how badly the girl is being treated from the time she was brought in as a baby and yet nothing she had done except show her few scraps of kindness and now an advice to protect herself and also a knife.

Had she really been interested in the girl's well being she would have found a way to get the girl out of that house.

That's why I feel Mangala Devi is doing more harm than Akhera Kundan and Harki.

But then if Mangala had the guts to take her out from there would she herself live in these type of conditions . Women in those areas become so dependent for shelter. Most of women in those areas accept their fate, some become like harki, while some become like Mangala.She herself never ran for her life.

What Mangala does throughout the day? I have not seen her doing much of housework as Nimboli does all the work. What a lazy life! They say an idle man's life is a devil's workshop. Even Kamli does nothing. She talks about books but I have never seen her with a book. Harki atleast supervises Nimboli and always manages to look busy.
