Why is Polygamy still allowed in some religion ?Why people are not objecting against it ? Isn't it injustice to femininity ? Why India hasnt be able to implement Uniform civil code to everyone if its secular country?

If I suffer let the other suffer more mentality 😉

Isn't it injustice to femininity ?
Its a testimony to their charms. Its impossible to tolerate one for a sane person yet some are chivalrous to tolerate 4

Why India hasnt be able to implement Uniform civil code to everyone if its secular country?
because they are too busy tending to their cows

Its not just politician, people themselves have accepted it as the word from God and no one want to go against it or even talk about it. Even people from different religion see it as a loop hole to get away from punishment under Indian law by conversion to Islam and some of the example are actor Dharmendra, Mahesh bhatt, and Haryana minister Chander Mohan. If Indian government talk about abolishing it then either its seen as an act to against their religion.

I strongly believe monogamy has to be the way for both men and women.

Still how polygamy in which a man could marry any number of women came into existence? The rules of the society are made such that women are protected. The women those days were housewives and ones with no income. She needs someone to take care of. Her parents know she has a male cousin who is a rich person and who is an understanding person but he is already married and they also know her future is secured if their daughter is married to him. Why not marry her to him instead of risking her to marry an unknown man of whom there is no guarantee whether he will treat his wife well?

And we also know only kings and rich persons had more than one wife. And we have also reports telling when there was polygamy, only 40% men were married while almost all the women were married. There was a proverb, 'You can count the number of sand particles in a river bank. But you can't count the number of Arjuna's wives.' Why women wanted to marry Arjuna only and not some other man who is not married?

If a woman had self-respect and was prepared to do her homework in the marriage, she would marry a man who is single and not just look for marriage as a way of settlement in which she becomes just another wife of a rich person. Thus monogamy helps men also.

If a society came into existence in a desert like place where survival itself is difficult and women needed to be taken care of, these types of customs were made. They are not to be applicable in the modern society.

^Exactly.. I don't even understand why will a woman want to marry someone who already has a wife.
I am not a guy so it's more difficult for me to understand why should a guy want to have many wives.
