Chapter 17
Shyam stood in the living room of RM as everyone eyed him angry. He had done a mistake of coming, Khushi had warned him, but he did not listen her.
Since he had come, she thought she had to do something before they would strangle him to death. She looked at Arnav and she couldn't tell if he had any good thought going in his head.
Before either Akaash, or Arnav can move, Anjali started walking towards him. As she stood in front of him, her slap in his face deafened the silence.
Khushi's hand flew over her mouth in shock.
Shyam bared the slap, and kept his head low, as he dared not to look in her eyes, knowing all he would see will be hatred and he wouldn't have ever afforded to see a hatred in her eyes for him.
"I am sorry, Rani Saheba..."
"Shut up...Just don't call me by that name. It sounds like an abuse from your mouth now," she said and poured all her hatred in her words.
"You...You are a cheater. Who not only ruined my life but my brother's too...What were you thinking when you did that?" she shouted. "An affair with your sister-in-law, are you kidding me? And how many years it took you to tell us all this? Not even you, but Khushi. If it wasn't her we would have still been living in this false facade...Didn't your soul trembled before doing all this? Why even I am complaining you, I was the one trusted you...And now why exactly you have come? To see if I am still alive or dead after hearing your betrayal?"
"Please don't say so...I am sorry for what I did..."
She shook her head. "I couldn't tell you, I didn't have guts," he said.
"You had the guts to have extra marital affair, but confessing it? You are a murderer, Mr. Shyam Manohar Jha. You murdered everyone's trust..."
"Please, Rani Sahiba give me only one chance..."
"Shame on you," she said in disgust. "That you are asking for an another chance. An another chance, also to give a person like you? Never. I can't live with you now at all. We are separating, and I want divorce..."
Land slipped underneath Shyam and Khushi's feet and they both looked at each other.
Arnav had started walking up to him, more closer he went, more afraid Khushi got.
He moved Anjali away, and punched Shyam in his face, as he wasn't in a mood to talk.
He beat him as if he was thirsty of his blood. Nobody in the family had made any approach to stop him either.
"He is going to kill him," she told herself.
She walked up to save him when no one did. "Arnav, please leave him, don't take law in your hands..."
Was he going to listen her? No! He would have loved to go to jail but after killing him.
Everyone in the family just saw the drama as they too wanted the same.
"Arnav, please just leave him...You are going to kill him...Please for your children sake, just stop!"
Shyam was saved from an another punch that might have landed in his ribs. "Please don't do violence!" she cried.
Arnav threw Shyam on the floor. "Security," he shouted.
Security rushed in on his one call. "Just throw this bast**d out of this house..."
"And if you ever seen near this house I promise you will not take another breathe," Akaash muttered under his breath.
Shyam's condition was already worst. His lips were ruptured. His face and clothes were bloody.
Arnav left to his room in anger, and everyone followed. Khushi ran after Shyam as security guard took him out of the RM.
"Leave him!" she ordered. Security guard released him. "Just wait outside!"
Before they protested she shouted at them and asked them to leave. Security guard nodded and left.
"I am sorry, jiju!" she wailed. "I am so sorry..."
"Pagali, why are you saying sorry?" he asked. "It's not your mistake, the only mistake is we let this matter stretch this far. Anyways, now stop crying and go inside before anyone come..."
She shook her head. "But, Jiju, you in this condition..."
"You don't worry about me...But thank you for saving me..."
"Divorce?"
"Khushi, forget about all this...take care of yourself and your baby. There is nothing more important than it...I see if there is a way out..." he kept his hand on her head and said. "I am sure everything will be okay soon..."
He turned to leave but stopped. "Khushi, promise you will not let anything happen to Anjali..."
She let out a long cry. "I won't!"
He smiled and left.

"Anjali, bitiya, please eat. Why are you giving yourself punishment for the person who didn't think twice before cheating you?" Mami ji said.
"How can I forget, Mami ji, that that man who cheated is my husband?...He is ashamed today, didn't he think before? Of course he didn't, why am I even questioning it? I hate him..."
She hugged her. "No, bitiya. Don't cry. It's him who deserved to cry..."
"Di, please..." Payal said.
"I want to spend some time alone please..."
Mami ji wasn't in favour to do so, but she and Payal did on her request.

Khushi walked in the room and closed the door. Arnav was sitting on the bed. She slowly walked up to him and sat in front of him. He opened his eyes and Khushi held his hand as he made an attempt to leave, and made him sit again.
"I know the moment is really delicate," she started off..."but Arnav ji, we have to make sure it doesn't worsen more. My lies, truths have hurt you, I am sorry about that..."
He shook his head. His tears stung his eyes and the nook of his eyes were wet as he still got hold of his tears. "You don't have to blame yourself, when the people whom me and di trusted the most managed to cheat us. I know with time we all will forget it...We have to. We can't do anything much. But I am worried about di. What will happen of her..."
"Why are you worried, Arnav ji? Please don't, everything will be okay, I promise..."
He covered his face as he let the damn of his tears break. She held his head in her hands and hugged him. "Why we are still suffering, Khushi?" he asked.
He crashed in her lap, she kept her chin on his head and caressed his hair.
His sobs slowly died as sleep overtook him. Hazel stood at the door, she silently cried as seeing her parents.
Khushi looked at her and her heart palpitated seeing her crying. She immediately gestured her to come in.
She slowly walked in and wiped her tears. Seeing her dad sleeping she asked her mother, "Mommy, what has happened to dad and everyone else?"
"Nothing, baby."
"You are lying, mom...Why daddy was mad at Shyam uncle?"
Khushi had nothing to say regarding this. Hazel hugged her arm and Khushi leant her head on hers.
"Mommy, I don't like when you and daddy cry..."
"I don't like it either, dear!" she said, and silence crept.
Khushi silently wiped her tears, and kissed Arnav's hair and Hazel's. By now they both were sleeping. She was relieved.
Her phone rang, and she immediately picked it from the bed, before Arnav's and Hazel sleep was broken. It was her mother's. She did not dare to cut it, she swiped the call option.
"Hello," she whispered.
"Khushi," her mother said, relief sweeping down to her bones. "How are you, bitiya?"
"I am good, mom!" she cried, but managed to hold her tears. "How are you?"
"I am good too...Khushi, it has been ages...please, dear, only once talk to us..."
"Mom, right now I can't talk, can we meet?"
"Sure, Khushi..."Mrs. Gupta wasn't sure if she heard it right, but there was no end to her happiness.
"Yeah, I am coming home..." she said.
"Dear, is everything alright?" she asked afraid.
"Everything is alright, just want to see you and dad..."
"Can you bring Hazel and Arnav son too?"
"I will try!" she said.
"Me and your father are eagerly waiting for you, my dear!"

When an hour later Arnav's sleep broke, he saw he had slept in Khushi's lap. In fear he immediately sat up.
"Arnav ji, what happened?"
"I am sorry, I didn't know when I slept...Are you okay?"
She nodded, but her back hurt. "It's really fine, I am okay..."
"You must be tired, I am sorry...Just lay down here..."
He picked sleeping Hazel in his arms. Khushi moved her legs up on the bed and lay down to straight her back. And he laid Hazel beside her.
"Arnav..."
He walked on to her side. "Hmm..."
"Mom's phone came...I want to see her..."
He didn't question her, for the first time she had asked him if she can meet them, and he thought he shouldn't have any problem with it. Not when he knew she shouldn't have been associated with his family in anyway to bare this unnecessary pain and stay away from her own parents.
"I promise they won't be a trouble for us...neither I will let them..."
"You don't have to ask me for that, go ahead and meet them!" he said. "I will be back, just need to see if Anjali di is fine..."
"She is sleeping, I texted Payal bhabi, she told me...If you want to see her go ahead..."
He nodded. "I get something for you to eat too!" he said and walked out.

"This is the picture and I want this person dead!" he typed a message on his phone and pressed the sent button.
